[ Distinguished and not-so distinguished residents of Riverview, hello.

Currently, you are graced with a mugshot of one Peter “Space-Duke” Quill and a view of the messier half of his shared apartment. In his hand is his trusty mp3 player – which boasts at least three hundred songs, holy crap, y’all – and while he has one bud in his ear, the other dangles from the wire. ]

So. Apparently if nothing else, this place has, like, all the music ever. So if I’ve gotta be stuck here, might as well make the most of it, right?

I’m on the hunt for somethin’ new. Tryin’ to play a whole lot of catch up. If anyone’s got any music recommendations, I’m all ears. Songs, artists, albums, weird, avant-garde stuff with a guy saying “number nine” over and over – hit me with your best shot. I’ll try anything once.

Also, uh.

[ A pause, and he turns the mp3 player’s face toward the camera. The screen happily displays the album art of The Best of Earth, Wind & Fire, Vol. 1 while “September” plays. Zunes, man!! Aren’t they rad? ]

Don’t suppose anyone here’s familiar enough with this that they can show me how to add stuff?

[ Now that's an interesting thought. He supposes the circumstances are already unbelievable enough, there's no reason people couldn't be brought from different points in time either. ] 2077. I assume that is not the case for you, then?

[ He’s about to continue on, but then he realizes he— actually has no clue what year it was on Earth when the portal brought him here. Once he got chucked out into space, he kind of stopped actively tracking Terran time, only idly marking out the passing of another year to track how old he is.

Okay, Peter. You can do this. It’s time to math.

He frowns for a second, picking it over, then, ]

It’s uh. [ He pauses as he runs his tongue over his teeth, mentally double-checking his math. ] I think it’s in the, uh. 2010s. 2014? 2015? No, 2014.

[ His eyes narrow, focusing on some middle distance as he thinks. ] Yeah. 2014. [ A pause. Then a little more uncertainly, ] I think.

[ Genji can't deny he's a little amused by the display, but he doesn't bring it up. He's the last person who should be judging anybody's circumstances in the first place. ] Well, that explains it then. I had no idea I was apparently from the future this entire time.

[ ...wasn't Reinhardt born around that time frame? The thought of there potentially being a child version of the man running around this place is. Interesting. ]

I apologize if I seemed rude before. There really isn't anything wrong with using that device.

[ Peter waves a hand dismissively. ]

It's fine. Don't worry about it. Miscommunication thing, obviously.

I mean, if some dude showed up on the network all like, "How does this newfangled phonograph work?" I'd be like, "Dude, what are you even doing with that relic?" too.

We're cool, dude.

[ That gets a little chuckle out of Genji. ] That is true enough. I'm glad there's no hard feelings then.

[ A pause. ] My album recommendation still stands, however. My favorite track is "Rejuvenescência."

Then, flatly, ]

It's Portuguese for "rejuvenation" I believe. It isn't a language I'm fluent in myself.
