Currently, you are graced with a mugshot of one Peter “Space-Duke” Quill and a view of the messier half of his shared apartment. In his hand is his trusty mp3 player – which boasts at least three hundred songs, holy crap, y’all – and while he has one bud in his ear, the other dangles from the wire. ]

So. Apparently if nothing else, this place has, like, all the music ever. So if I’ve gotta be stuck here, might as well make the most of it, right?

I’m on the hunt for somethin’ new. Tryin’ to play a whole lot of catch up. If anyone’s got any music recommendations, I’m all ears. Songs, artists, albums, weird, avant-garde stuff with a guy saying “number nine” over and over – hit me with your best shot. I’ll try anything once.

Also, uh.

[ A pause, and he turns the mp3 player’s face toward the camera. The screen happily displays the album art of The Best of Earth, Wind & Fire, Vol. 1 while “September” plays. Zunes, man!! Aren’t they rad? ]

Don’t suppose anyone here’s familiar enough with this that they can show me how to add stuff?

Sure, sure. If I end up finding anything spaceworthy, you'll be on the shortlist of people I call up.

Excellent. Although, perhaps Lokio should be a woman, hm? A sort of Nikita or, oh! Emma Peel. A nice contrast to Starl's buff neck and all.

[ A pause, then, with a pleased sort of smile, ]

You think I have a buff neck?

[ yes. that was his takeaway, here. ]

Like a marshmallow with an animated gumdrop on top, sure.

[ Peter frowns at the camera, eyes narrowed in an overblown expression of annoyance. ]

Well, we were bonding. For, like, a handful of seconds.

[ He clicks his tongue, shaking his head almost ruefully. ]

Nearly had it.

You'd brush me off so easily? Don't break my heart now.

[ Peter heaves out a long sigh. ]

I was so ready to have misadventures with you, Lokio. Get into shenanigans. Dabble in tomfoolery.

[ He raises a hand, pinching his thumb and forefinger together until they nearly touch. ]

We were this close.

Not the tomfoolery! I live for the foolery of Tom!

[ Clutching and shaking a fist in the air. ]

[ Peter clicks his tongue. ]

Sorry, buddy. The S.S. Buffoonery has already weighed anchor and set sail.

Come over to Trixie when you're thirsty, we'll find a prime watering hole at the bar for my courageous partner Starl.

[ He flashes a bright grin, then leans forward on the table, cupping his chin with his hand. ]

You know, Lokio, I had some reservations about this partnership, thanks to our completely mismatched personalities and inability to agree on how to carry out the finer points of the law, but I've gotta say, I'm starting to think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
