[ Distinguished and not-so distinguished residents of Riverview, hello.
Currently, you are graced with a mugshot of one Peter “Space-Duke” Quill and a view of the messier half of his shared apartment. In his hand is his trusty mp3 player – which boasts at least three hundred songs, holy crap, y’all – and while he has one bud in his ear, the other dangles from the wire. ]
So. Apparently if nothing else, this place has, like, all the music ever. So if I’ve gotta be stuck here, might as well make the most of it, right?
I’m on the hunt for somethin’ new. Tryin’ to play a whole lot of catch up. If anyone’s got any music recommendations, I’m all ears. Songs, artists, albums, weird, avant-garde stuff with a guy saying “number nine” over and over – hit me with your best shot. I’ll try anything once.
Also, uh.
[ A pause, and he turns the mp3 player’s face toward the camera. The screen happily displays the album art of The Best of Earth, Wind & Fire, Vol. 1 while “September” plays. Zunes, man!! Aren’t they rad? ]
Don’t suppose anyone here’s familiar enough with this that they can show me how to add stuff?

[He echoes, head tilted a little as he takes in the peculiar name. But considering his own nickname, Ivar's hardly one to judge.]
How'd you gain that title?
no subject
Just a name that I picked up over the years.
[ And there's a story there – of course there's a story there – to do with stargazing and too many marathons of Star Trek and Star Wars any sci-fi title Peter could get his hands on at the impressionable age of seven years old, but like hell is he ever going to tell that to anyone. ]
Quill works just fine, if that's more your thing.

[In Ivar's case, it was one person giving him the nickname when he was born, causing it to stick for the rest of his life. His father hadn't been in the most loving mood when he found out his son was never going to be able to walk, hence why the name was a little cruel.]
I think I can manage Star-Lord if I bother to call you anything at all.

What about you? Do you prefer Ivar or the Boneless?
no subject
[Yep, he's got a few of them. Hence why he didn't go telling everyone he was a prince right off the bat when he met them.]
no subject
[ yes, that's generally why the "s" gets tacked onto the end of words, quill. ]
no subject
Yes, plural. The other one is Prince of Norway. Though I hope to change that to King one day.
[First he had to kill the current queen. Ivar has developed quite the talent for killing off royalty.]
no subject
... Seriously?
[ quill is doing little favors for his apparent intelligence. ]
The Prince of Norway? Like, for real. Actual prince. Not just, like, a nickname sorta thing.
no subject
[Peter gets an eyeroll for that as Ivar mocks his tone. He's clearly talking with a very dumb man.]
My father was King Ragnar Lothbrok Sigurdsson, the most famous Viking in the world. When he killed the previous king, he became King of Norway.
[He sounds very proud of this fact. Ivar adores his father and what he had accomplished, even now after his death.]
