Hypothetically speaking, what would you do if the person you were in love with literally forgot you existed? Or, what if you remember having a life with this person except it technically never happened for them?

Would you try to build a connection with them? Would it even be fair to do that? Would you simply try to move on?

Why not go, 'Hey, we used to date. I know you don't remember. Want to try it out with me because otherwise I'm going to be awkward and sad?'

Point is. I don't think it matters. You have the chance to make new memories here.

You keep looking. Dude, I've been single for awhile and I've loved a lot of people who haven't loved me back. You get stronger and you keep going. Besides, you only live once. Do it without regretting anything.
