Good morning. I've recently arrived in Riverview - my name is Mordred.
Suggestions are both welcome and encouraged as I learn my way around this lovely city. So is advice. [Although that could be such a bad idea. It's fine. He's accepted his choices.] In the meantime, I'll be fulfilling a position with Gramarye Magic Research.
Those of you that use magic yourselves, I sincerely hope our paths will cross while I'm here.
[And boy does he ever mean it.]

[And boy does he ever mean it.]

It's just ... people.
[ To put it in the vaguest possible terms. ]
no subject
[It usually is, isn't it? On the appropriate side of the bar, Mordred takes up the position of the bartender with an open ear, leaning against the counter with his own drink still clutched comfortably in one hand.]
What kind of people?
no subject
... Men.
[ If one word could sum up all his grousing, that would be it. ]
no subject
Maybe I'm in the wrong place at the wrong time.
no subject
[ He has had some problems with mixed signals, lately. ]
It's nothing, at any rate. I'm fine.
[ Just moody and more self-involved than usual, but at least he can admit it. ]
no subject
Well, you seem fine.
[Nothing about the way he says it will suggest that this is in fact the case.]
no subject
[ An observation as Loki polishes off his drink, eyeing Mordred over the rim. ]
Did you know Merlin and Arthur, all those rabble?
no subject
[The question that follows nearly cracks the rim of the glass -- he wasn't expecting it. But Mordred just critically examines the remaining contents of his drink, and keeps his response politely neutral and very short.] Yes.
no subject
You'd rather not talk about yourself? Pick a subject, I'm not fussy.
[ That is #ALIE but hes curious to see where Mordred takes the conversation when the attention is on him. ]
no subject
Changing the subject, therefore, is an opportunity he jumps on directly.]
Chaos magic is... impossibly rare, where I come from. I don't get the chance to-- [study it, experience it, try to learn it] --witness it as often as I'd like. If you don't have any strong objections, I'd very much appreciate hearing some about yours.
no subject
I do what I want, I don't know how else to put it. Existence bends around a user of chaos magic, they never break it.
no subject
You never have trouble with it? Controlling it?
no subject
no subject
[Well, it's nice to know there's still a balance in the universe, anyway.]
How does it interact with other forms of magic?
no subject
[ Not to give away too much about his own power, he flashes Mordred a wink. ]
Maybe if you throw together another drink, I'll feel my tongue loosen.
no subject
Once more around the block, or are you in the mood for variety?
no subject
[ Sliding off his stool, Loki mooches his way to the main couch facing the hearth and puts his boots up on the wooden coffee-table, awaiting the arrival of Mordred with an invitation for the sorcerer to park himself on the other side. ]
no subject
All right, fine. Mordred rests his hands on the counter for a moment, pondering his options before he finally hops to it. This one is fall-to-winter and warm, touched by the heat of fire in his fingertips, a mixture of mead and hot buttered cider, the apples tart and heavy, with just a bit of sweet cinnamon. He makes two this time, but only adds the green mile to one. He can't imagine what that would do to him and isn't keen on finding out on this particular venture.
He joins his host by the hearth, turning over the drink before he makes himself comfortable, just in case this one doesn't go over as well.]
no subject
Do you, in fact, want a job here?
no subject
no subject
[ Stay awayyy. ]
He, on the other hand, definitely needs a beautiful young man's attention.
no subject
He gets a little bit of a Look at the next part, though.]
Depending on the context, I'm not sure I'll be the one to give it to him. [He drinks slowly as his brow furrows a little.] Is he in charge? The Loki I met initially claimed to be the first arrival.
no subject
[ Sipping his drink, he shoots Mordred a look. ]
Stay under my twin's umbrella, if you can.
no subject
Mordred shrugs anyway, resting an arm against the back of the sofa.] I prefer to work under my own steam, with some exceptions. [That is, when someone is willing to teach him new tricks. The other Loki hasn't been especially receptive so far.] But I appreciate the warning; consider it taken to heart.
no subject
[ Loki tips his head back, his gaze sliding to Mordred's fingers on the cushioning. ]
