Ah, to be young and alive! Breathe in the air, enjoy the scenery, get to know the people...
Let me tell you a little philosophy...
[The young man in the video — he's such a character in hair alone (what on earth is going on with it) — sits in his rented hospital wheelchair in his simple apartment space on floor 14 (needs a little work, he thinks, not nearly enough reading material or flashy bits). In one hand, he's got some silly romance novel that's clearly forgotten, and he looks a bit weary, a bit hollowed out from battles not yet mentioned, but he's clearly so very jazzed about the opportunity to be here in Riverview. After all, he'd thought he'd be a dead man, and though he's hardly out of the woods entirely, he has more time to keep going! More time to really go the extra mile -- literally! Ahahahaha!
Oh, yes, the philosophy. Ehem.
At this point, his mouth is moving a mile a minute.]

That's the fun of travel, and there's no better travel than hopping worlds; think about it...! Of all the universes and all the galaxies, you were extended a hand to this place — a one in a trillion chance, perhaps more, to be among the stars! Or perhaps to shoot across time and space like one...! More time to chase after longevity, to meet records, to dash down the sin of sloth. We all have the right to free will! Free will to fall in love, to learn and grow and develop new and interesting hobbies and ideas and concepts of what it is to be our own individual self; individuality is key! [He's balancing on one wheelchair wheel, spinning in a circle. Stop him. STOP HIM.] But what's the point of all that if you're too slow to get around to it, huh?! Don't let yourself hold you back!! If you want something, reach for it, so you know what that means—?!
[He stops. Drops back onto all his wheels, so tickled.]
Anyone interested in wheelchair racing?
[Sometimes (most times) he just can't help himself.]

[Keith had to point out the obvious here.]

... Or maybe by bike?
[boy cougar would be down to have a bike
imagine the SPEED with an engine and some rockets on it-]
Re: [ video ]
[Keith, no. You don't just ask people why they're in wheelchairs.]
[ video ]
But obviously, there's such a thing as heroing too much. Or too quickly? Maybe I was too fast again.
[He's not mentioning he was on death's door and he's still screwed up internally, because that's depressing, and who needs depressing on a day like this? He's got more months, years, however long to live! If his treatment goes well, anyway. Slowing something down is never something he thought he'd be pleased about in his life...]
Re: [ video ]
[Still clueless, Keith kept going.]
Are you stuck in it? Or are you going to get better?
[ video ]
[But he's humored, hardly offended. Kid kinda reminds him of a somewhat tamer Kazuma. Just. Less punching rocks apart and whatnot, y'know?]
I should be good to go for holding my weight in a few weeks; not too bad, all things considered! But I'm admittedly a little impatient.
Re: [ video ]
I'd be impatient, too.
[He shrugged.]
I've been told I'm not good at waiting.
[Keith probably sat somewhere in the junction between Kazuma, Cougar, and Ryuho. Impatient with a taste for speed and adrenaline, a short temper, but definitely the serious type most of the time.]
[ video ]
... I'm kidding. Or am I.]
What good is waiting when there's so much to do? Reading, watching, writing, running! You've got to exercise the mind and soul and body, right? It's a triad of things, all essential to daily living, all important to a healthy self! Don't you think so? Of course you do, come on; what kind of crazy person disagrees with staying healthy! It's the first step to happy, right?
[Keith say something before he starts rambling, his words are picking up speed again.]
Re: [ video ]
Keith was actually likely to let Cougar ramble. He was the quiet type, after all. However, there were times when he needed to step in, and he was pretty okay at recognizing them... especially with Pidge. And this was starting to look like one of those moments. So, he waited just long enough to find a spot to speak up.]
But, if you're injured, then you're not really healthy, so you have to wait to get healthy, right?
[Hah. Haha. Look who was talking. Keith was one of the worst when it came to pushing himself through injuries to keep going. But, hey... it interrupted the stream of words that was currently hitting him in the face, so that probably helped a little.
Maybe.]

[ video ]
You got me there, buddy!
It's R&R central over here!
Re: [ video ]
Though, I'm sure there's stuff you can do while you're waiting and resting. You mentioned reading and other stuff, so that could work.
[Wait... did Keith just talk someone down from a challenge? This was a shocker.
Though, pushing himself through injury was one thing. Encouraging someone else to do the same was just plain not his style. He'd take that challenge back up later once Cougar was healthy enough to race for real.]

Aren't they great? Whole worlds in little bundles of paper, and so often created by someone lounging in their chair eating snacks or stressing over deadlines! Such fantastical places, created between smoke breaks and eating candy they probably shouldn't be. Or maybe walking their dog.
Such a novel way of living.

Re: [ video ]
Uh, yeah... I get it.
But, hey... I'll take you up on the challenge once you're ready for it.
[And there it was... Keith's inability to turn down a challenge.]
[ video ]
[ahaha i'm kidding i'mma whip yo ass
don't listen to the guy with unfair powers]
Re: [ video ]
[From the clueless teenager that knows nothing of Alters...]
[ video ]
Re: [ video ]
[Keith stared at him, completely at a loss.]
[ video ]
I've got a serious knack for the wheelchair that can't be underestimated.
Re: [ video ]
What are you talking about?
[ video ]
There's nobody alive who can match me behind the wheel.
[... Is that any more useful.]
Re: [ video ]
But... wheelchairs don't have steering wheels. Unless you plan on racing someone in a car... but then that would be kind of unfair, too, wouldn't it?
[Yup. Keith was being literal again.]
[ video ]\
A wheelchair is a car if you put a little work into it; four wheels, right?
