I suppose I am be grateful for the sudden kidnapping when it came.
It could not have come at a better time.
But I wonder how many were brought here to escape their lives rather than the immediate situation at hand?
My name is Bruce Wayne from Gotham. I doubt there are any here from my city, but if you are, please contact me.
I also have a question for anyone reading this: is the Friendr application truly useful? Does anyone find suitable friends that way, or is it best to find them the old-fashioned way?
Thank you

I mean it isn't a part of my world, but that's just a thing you get used to.
Friendr is a nice distraction, real world is better but sometimes you're in class or at work and you just wanna see who else is here. You should make one!
no subject
Perhaps I will
But shouldn't you be paying attention during class or at work?
no subject
Oh, probably. But class is really boring a lot of the time.
Work I do it when things are dead, there aren't always people in the diner.
no subject
What kind of mask was it?
[ Please don't say an owl. That'll really bring Brucey down. ]
Really? What kind of diner do you work at?

I'm not from Gotham, but I've been there plenty of times.
no subject
Where are you from then?
no subject
[ Or, of a certain speedster who calls Central home. ]
no subject
What brings you to Gotham?
I mean when you were back home
[ Not, you know, here. ]

My name is Ciel Phantomhive from England. And the Friendr... thing, I've found no real use for it. I created one simply for the sake of covering my bases.
no subject
Perhaps I will make one just in case
Did you want a new life totally away from your old one?
no subject
I suppose we all did. I can't say my circumstances at the moment I left were ideal, but a new life? I couldn't say for sure.
no subject
But with all of us in the same predicament and remaining I imagine there is no easy way to get back.
[ Unless there's a super duper top secret backdoor way to get home, y/y? ]

Bruce. It's Bruce.
He replies at once, not letting himself think, all instinct over focus. Bruce will know him or he won't. ]
I guess that depends on your definition of "suitable."
no subject
I suppose mine is not entirely conventional
Do you use friendr?
no subject
[ There’s a test buried here, there’s always a test. He hesitates. ]
You have much luck hunting down the Gotham expatriate club?
no subject
But if there is a club already established I suppose I only need to hunt down the founder
Is that something you're privy to?
Or is this just small talk?
[ Honestly Bruce is real bad at discerning one or the other. ]

@JaggedFan
I'm not from Gotham I'm afraid, so I can't help you there. As for the Friendr app -- I, actually don't use it. I stick to making friends the old fashioned way. [ She kind of found it a bit impersonal, going through an app. ]
I think it's a bit easier to get a judge of someone in person... USUALLY.

Thank you for the advice
How long have you been here?
no subject
You said you were pulled into this place when you were trying to escape your life..? Things must have been pretty bad for you if you're grateful to be kidnapped to another world like this..

However, with a list of preferences and interest selected, I assumed it would cut down on the usual small talk
[ Bruce doesn't have time for that, or the hobbies necessary to exploit it. Most of his experiences these days aren't fit for public conversation. ]
But it seems most people do not communicate through Friendr anyway
voice
Oh, they do. But when you find yourself plop in a strange place, sometimes it feels better to see, ya know, actual people.
