What kind of stories did you grow up with?

What kind of myths and fairy tales were you told?

In a way. There's also a satisfaction in uncovering them and insisting that they stay revealed.

Even if people resent you for it.

I cannot deny that is immensely satisfying.

Ah, so I assume you've done the same in your life, then?

I try, at least.

That's all very vague... But I can appreciate there's another person here who will seek it out instead of sitting here in these constant festivals.

It is my nature to be so.

But to some extent, I too chafe under the festivals and routine they expect us all to follow.

Just need to be mysterious, mn?

They're fun, at first. Distracting may actually be the better word - but sometimes I'd rather just be back wandering the wastes than here at yet another festivity for something I don't actually celebrate.

I prefer to be contrary in all things.

I suppose it is not meant for us.

They mean to keep us happy and occupied while we're here and away from our home worlds, I'm sure, but this is nothing like what my world used to be.

I do not think they are quite so manipulative, but the nature of this place is very comforting. It is meant to soothe phantom pains and make this a new home. But it does not work if you cannot leave.

They don't seem to be, no. Maybe I'm just more careful because of where I was before here..

Well, the tale is that you can leave if you tell them. For right now I'm.. exploring a little more before I ask them to charter me a way back to my version of Earth. I can't hide out here forever, even if home lacks my creature comforts.

That seems wise. You approach this place logically.

I try to approach everything in that manner. No good decisions are made on pure emotion, so far as I've ever seen. Or at least.. decisions without difficulty to follow.

Perhaps.

But are they fulfilling decisions if all they do is keep you alive?

Who says they're only meant to keep me alive?

Pure emotion is not a phrase used lightly.

My view of that type of thing may be skewed from others, admittedly. Where I come from emotion was considered unnecessary in all things, so.

To be fair, what I consider an emotional decision may not be one to other people.

What would it be then?

A concession. Or a.. breaking free, depending.

Pulling away from my own habits has proven to be a struggle, from time to time, even if they were things I chafed against in my life before here.

Unsurprising. They are habits. Those are the hardest to break.

They are. Anyway, considering the chances here the moment I lose those habits I'll be told it's time to go back to my time and everyone there will be shell shocked at me.

Oh well. Not the first time, after all.

I find it is best to keep changing and keep everyone on their toes. Why let the world or anything else determine who you wish to be?

I didn't allow it to, that's not the problem more than how.. sudden the change will appear to them.

But any adjustment takes time.

I have no doubt you will handle it with aplomb.

And what makes you so assured?
