[ text | un: trickster ]
What kind of stories did you grow up with?
What kind of myths and fairy tales were you told?
What kind of myths and fairy tales were you told?

[ There is a faint thread of warmth there, though that might be indistinguishable to Loki's normal tone of voice. ]
Ah. I was always fond of that one. Unfortunately, I do not reveal the truth in our legends. It robs the mystery from men.
[ And because Loki is a shitheel. He prefers people mulling about it than give a straight answer. ]

I'd ask Thor, but I have a feeling I should be standing a fair distance away when I do.

Shame he cannot manage without one.

You would think so.

[You know, there's a reason Ivar thinks Thor is the better uncle, and this is one of them.]

[ A wolfish smile. ]
Weakness.

[The words are growled out and said with narrowed eyes. Loki knows just how to get at him, someone the rest of the world has already judged, and found lacking.]
no subject
Of course not. You would not succumb to the kindness and ease that Thor provides, would you?
no subject
Now you're assuming an awful lot.
[He says the words firmly, but there's a bit of doubt in his mind. Is Loki right? Does he seek out the god's company because he's weak enough to need him in such a way?]
no subject
[ Hint, the answer is no one or he'd really get pissed. ]
I imagine it is just so much simpler to bask in the company of Thor and never needing to do much else. All because you were fortunate enough to be in the same location. And you know our ways. We do not truly favor the fortunate.

You make me sound like a pathetic dog that follows someone around after they feed it once.
[He's far too cynical to find any satisfaction to be doing things in such a simple way.]
no subject
Well. I did not say that. And why would I begrudge you that? Thor, after all, is such a hearty fellow. He'll give you whatever you want. You do not need to prove yourself.
Though, to be fair, what can you possibly offer him?

[Ivar snaps the words out irritably. It's nothing that he hasn't thought to himself at one time or another before. Such was what happened being around his gods here in Riverview. What could someone unimportant as he was, crippled and not even whole, offer?
But he's not about to take this lying down.]
What's the matter, Trickster? Jealous of the attention he gets? Did your mother favor him over you growing up or something?
[He's got a rivalry with Sigurd, his older brother, that mirrors the two god's relationship in more ways than one. He knows what resentment fills his brother's heart and why it was placed there.]
no subject
Actually, our mother passed on her teachings to me. But good try though.
no subject
[Though really, he shouldn't expect anything different from someone that every Norse legend had made out to be a clever trickster and liar.]
no subject
Of course.
no subject
[This should bode well the next time Ivar and Thor spend any amount of time together. Which was probably just what Loki wanted in the first place.]
no subject
It is in my nature.

Snake, scorpion, fox. The story does not change.
no subject
[Ivar had always liked that story. He did things the same way, always doing what he wanted to get what he want.]
no subject
Is that not the point? To avoid the fate of the frog.
