[ some of you might have seen this username on the network before. she isn't a stranger to responding to other people's messages, nor to holding private conversation but as for addressing the entire network, well. this is certainly a first time.
peggy carter is in her office in the riverview police force. it's a slow afternoon, which is the only reason for this little message, really. ]
They're really quite attached to their celebrations aren't they. If I have to secure another event, be it a dance ball, a speed dating evening or anything that involves ribbons, glitter, gifts and large, outdoor parties, I fear I may have to file a complaint. Honestly now, this is getting out hand.
[ no one needs this amount of cheer, surely. ]
More importantly, I am searching for someone who might understand a thing or two about what makes these little devices tick.

[ it's better than coffee duties but it's still not quite there with making the world a safer place. ]
Someone to take this thing apart and put it together again for me, as it is. I think I've just found a rather worthy volunteer.
[ bless tony stark. ]

Oh, really? You didn't? [ That's a sarcastic lilt there to her voice as she leans on her hand. It's not a typical motion for her, if only because she's a little over conscious of her skin, but.. well.. Peggy isn't the only one who's bored with the job she used to thrill in, at home. It's very different, going from investigating murder and the like to escorting people home and all the things that went along with maintaining public order during a party.
Occasionally petty theft shook things up, but that wasn't all that common. ]
And who would that be? A good thing they found you, anyway - I don't know if I'd be able to do that effectively.

[ or not at all; they have that in common, among other things. ]
A son of a friend. Tony Stark. You can't have missed him, he's makes himself very much seen and heard. There are a few of them, two or three, I can't keep up, all from parallel universes.
[ but only one calls her aunt peggy. ]

My work was more on.. you know.. figuring out how grey matter got splattered there exactly instead of these parties and the like. At first I was glad for the break and change, but now... [ She shrugs black clad shoulders, as if saying 'but what can I do about it' - there's not a chance she's about to risk brutal murders carried out by proxies or autoreivs on this place. It would be a terrible thing to wish on the place. ]
Oh, yes, I've met one or two of them. I think the one I knew best has gone back, though, last I checked.
It's good, though.. that he's going to give you the help you want.

[ especially since she cared for them all. all of them were sons of howard stark, after all. ]
He's very resourceful if you know how to get past the walls of sarcasm.

Three at once? [ There's a bit of a face there, as if that would be her own personal nightmare, meeting and having to deal with three of the same person all at once and tell them apart. For one, there's no chance she wouldn't mess up at least once, and for two...
Well, that just sounds like a damn nightmare. ]
I'm not sure I have enough patience for that kind of thing, honestly. That's always been my disadvantage - having nil patience.

[ howard stark, honestly. at least tony doesn't make passes at peggy except for that one time neither of them will ever talk about to anyone. ]
