[ some of you might have seen this username on the network before. she isn't a stranger to responding to other people's messages, nor to holding private conversation but as for addressing the entire network, well. this is certainly a first time.

peggy carter is in her office in the riverview police force. it's a slow afternoon, which is the only reason for this little message, really. ]

They're really quite attached to their celebrations aren't they. If I have to secure another event, be it a dance ball, a speed dating evening or anything that involves ribbons, glitter, gifts and large, outdoor parties, I fear I may have to file a complaint. Honestly now, this is getting out hand.

[ no one needs this amount of cheer, surely. ]

More importantly, I am searching for someone who might understand a thing or two about what makes these little devices tick.

It's Prince Loki, technically, or Your Highness if you're feeling adventurous, but I don't stand on ceremony. Just 'Loki' will do.

[ Cocking his head, he asks in the same unruffled tone, ] What if you didn't have to secure one? Could your enjoy yourself then? I think not, you sound too capable to leave such a matter in someone else's hands.

Oh, I don't think they celebrate too often. Besides, it's much less dour than lamenting the loss of loved ones, isn't it? If we assume they've moved on to be somewhere more pleasant, they deserve a party, don't you think?

[ Mister Loki sounds like some part of a kinky bedroom game, but he won't point that out. He'll wait for it to really take root. ]

[ not many people call her in this city. Not a one, if we're entirely honest but it's not unfamiliar. ]

especially as some of them would like to attend these things rather than merely working them.

I want to understand these things a bit better. I know how to operate them well enough by now, but the way they work is a mystery to me. I don't much like being dependent on something I cannot at all understand.

[ call her old fashioned but it is what it is. ]

I must say, when they went over my supposed resume and affiliated me with the Force, I did not think this would be our main course of action. I've walked far too many drunken bastards to their doorsteps.

[ oh, aren't you the perfect picture of helpfulness today, Eddie? ]

Well, I mean. I've built them before. Not these, obviously, but ones back home. So I can probably take you through it.

Once a month! every each month since my arrival and I have been here for some time. I admit, it's better seeing a measure of happiness than grief but I could do with a month of recess from all of this.

[ sad or happy, it's her job to make sure these celebrations are safe to all those who choose to take part in them. ]

Not a problem, no. I only wish to try and understand it better. This sort of technology is a bit beyond my time, I fear.

[ she's beginning to suspect he's all capable when technology is concerned. but then again, so was howard. ]

Not much. [He flicks her a quick, teasing grin. It's an overstatement, maybe, but not by much.]

I don't, technically. I could find it, but you could also just tell me.

I admit, I did not imagine my career including escorting drunken people to their homes and keeping them from drowning in the river.

[ it's better than coffee duties but it's still not quite there with making the world a safer place. ]

Someone to take this thing apart and put it together again for me, as it is. I think I've just found a rather worthy volunteer.
