[ some of you might have seen this username on the network before. she isn't a stranger to responding to other people's messages, nor to holding private conversation but as for addressing the entire network, well. this is certainly a first time.

peggy carter is in her office in the riverview police force. it's a slow afternoon, which is the only reason for this little message, really. ]

They're really quite attached to their celebrations aren't they. If I have to secure another event, be it a dance ball, a speed dating evening or anything that involves ribbons, glitter, gifts and large, outdoor parties, I fear I may have to file a complaint. Honestly now, this is getting out hand.

[ no one needs this amount of cheer, surely. ]

More importantly, I am searching for someone who might understand a thing or two about what makes these little devices tick.

I don't like dancing as much as getting gumballs and hats.

I don't tend to agree with this city's definition of dancing, I'm afraid.

[ and so, for now, no she doesn't. ]

Gumballs and hats do sound a bit more exciting.

Of course they are. They're cool.

[Said so matter-of-factly. She seems to have caught something in the feed.]

What is on your nails?

[They're not like hers. Hers are short and chewed down and flesh-toned on the beds.]

Nail lacquer? you've never seen it? it's paint, if you will, for the nails. comes off all too readily, however.

[ she lifts a hand, lets her see her ( red, always red nails ) ]

they come in all sorts of colours. you might just find one that you like. will stop you from nibbling on yours.

[Nail... lacquer...? She looks at her own fingernails, then to Peggy's. Is that what normal girls wear? She can't remember if the nurses ever wore it; they couldn't have them so long and pointy, she thinks. But were they ever colorful like that...? Is she supposed to do things like that? Is it a fun thing to do, to make them all sorts of shades?]

... They're very... pretty.

[She's never really considered doing anything to make her hands pretty.

They're not for being pretty, on her.]
