[ sitting in his room in marco's mansion with a record player belting out blitzkrieg bop. not so loud that he can't be heard, but it's clearly cranked up a little. nico, meanwhile, is sharpening his sword and looking a little put out. after having his memories shared with multiple people, he's not feeling too sociable. but he can hear jason grace in his head telling him he needs to get out of the house and talk to people. ]

Eight months. I've been here eight months and there's still no way to get back to camp. Back... home.

[ the fact he calls camp home now truly reveals just how much he misses his friends and family. ]

This place isn't too bad, but being the only demigod around here kind of sucks. I don't know how many people around here get homesick, but I would certainly accept even some of the gods, Greek gods showing up. No offense to you Norse types.

[ he picks up his sword and sets his thumb against the edge, cheering up a little as it nicks the skin, causing blood to well to the surface. sucking on his thumb, he sets the sword aside. ]

Whatever. Anyone want to go outside quarantine and kill some stuff?

[ Nico is more animated than Fandral in a steamhouse full of hot bods, but in an absolutely opposite way. ]

[ flops back down on loki, feeling a little drunk on his presence. it's both strange and uplifting at the same time. it makes his ears heat up and gives him the urge to burrow closer still, though there's hardly any space between them now. ]

Thanks. I've never really hung out with anyone like this before. It's... really nice.

[ Loki loves to be plastered up with Nico on his chest, he feels an awful lot like a cat gif when he stretches and relaxes with a hand buried in Nico's hair. ]

Yes, you are.

[deathkid]

Me? I meant... [ but is it really worth arguing? nico gazes at loki for a few seconds, watching the godling before he seems to come to a decision. gingerly, almost shyly, he presses a kittenish kiss to loki's cheek. ]

You are too, for all your wiles.

Not in spite of them too much, I hope ...

[ The kiss is sweet and he accepts it happily, turning his cheek into the press of warm lips. ]

[ settling back down into his spot at loki's side, he shakes his head. ]

You've never give me a reason to be cautious or anything like that.

[ reaches up and taps loki's nose. ]

Even when you're drunk, you're abundantly nice.

Ah, my worst moment around you, of course ...

[ He turns his head, squeezing his eyes shut as a nervous chuckle bubbles up. ]

That was an unfortunate time.

[deathkid]

[ soothing his hands through loki's hair, he nuzzles the godling in a reassuring manner. ]

It's fine. Just means I get to know more about the enigmatic god of chaos.

That's not the coolest way to get to know me ...

[ His eyes close with the nuzzling, hands in his hair lulling him into the allure of a nap. ]

[ he'll just continue the motion, fingers tickling a nape before dragging up through silken strands again, providing a slight scalp massage. ]

Maybe not, but it's an honest way. I've learned that you're a very caring person, who loves deeply and hurts just as deeply when your heart is broken.

Mmm, perhaps.

[ He doesn't want to be the sort of person who says 'yes, I am so incredibly deep, sometimes I don't even have caramel in my lattes', because anything Loki responds with will, in his opinion, come off in the same way. Instead he turns his head and traps Nico's hand, smiling up at the perceptive demigod. ]

And I've learned you're very cute, even though you're grumpy and have terrible taste in music.

[ Glove!! Thrown down! ]

[ huffs, knowing he's right. just let nico love you, loki the way loki calls him cute prompts his ears to turn red, and he huffs a second time, fingers wiggling against loki's scalp. ]

My taste in music is fine. And I'm not cute. I scare people.

Who've you scared?

[ He highly doubts this, okay. ]

[deathkid]

Lots of people! I scare Jason all the time. And people back home.

[ikols]

Jason Todd? You scare a grown man with ten thousand guns in his pockets?

[ Pardon Loki cracking up. ]

[deathkid]

Yes. [ hA! ] He hates it when I shadow travel to meet him somewhere.

[ikols]

I'd like to see his reaction to that, next time. Alternatively, I don't want to see you get shot or stabbed ...

[ And Jason can be awfully jumpy, yes. ]

[deathkid]

He's not fast enough to stab me. But I might need to watch his guns. So far, he hasn't had them in hand when I meet him.

[ still scritching loki's nape with his fingers. ]

[ Getting ... difficult to stay awake. ]

Pretty sure he always has a gun somewhere ...

[ Especially after Loki blew him that one time and Jason was still mostly dressed on their raid of the closed mall. Good memories.]

[ jesus, loki. sounds hot ]

Yeah, I'm pretty sure too, but he never has one out around me. He considers me a kid and calls me "Nik".

You're eighteen, he's an old man inside. Cut him some slack, Neeks.

Nearly eighty-eight, actually. I'm older than him by decades.

[ huff ]

Rainy up there, is it, on that high horse?

[ Tweaking Nico's nose. ]

I think I win the 'I'm-actually-older-than-you' race, let's leave that one be.

[deathkid]

[ scrunches his nose and tugs on the hand still caught by loki. he shifts slightly, pressing himself closer as his ears start heating up. ]

Yeah, yeah. You're practically ancient. And yet not a grey hair on your head. Aren't you lucky?

[ikols]

[ With all of Nico's squirming it's lucky they're still clothed. Loki clasps narrow hips and drags the teen onto his lap to straddle him, giving Nico a proper seat so he won't slide around so much. ]

Lucky is one word for it, although you should be thanking Billy, who crafted this body.
