[ the last time she graced the network with her presence, diana of themyscira explored the wonder of food emojis. now, however, she decides to take a more traditional approach — face-to-face, well, as much as she can over these devices. while she still prefers to meet in person, this will suffice for now. what can she say, she's old fashioned like that. ]

Thanksgiving.

[ she speaks the word softly, almost contemplative, though diana offers a bright smile into the camera. ]

Back home, we had many reasons to be thankful, and we did not limit the occasion to one day. Still, family and friends. [ her smile widens. ] That is something to celebrate.

Not always from home. For instance, someone you met here that went home? Could write you a letter from their home world.

[At the next statement though, he perks up some.]

Actually, there's a celebration here- I'm not familiar with it, it happened shortly before I arrived. Gift giving is part of it, and I think things come through the portal from our home worlds. A friend told me about it when I got here.

[Well, that was complicated. It would sure make things easier, but if the person didn't want to be here? You're just making your friend miserable. He's not going to be the downer in this conversation though, okay.]

Yeah, things...

[But the question gives him hope, maybe, that this conversation isn't completely lost.]

May, I think. I showed up in June, and from the way people were talking it had been pretty recent. There might be record of it somewhere, there's a lot of public records here, actually.

[You can look into anything, it makes his life so much easier.]

There are plenty of holidays, though. Centered around people, food or gifts. Too many to list them all. Do you not have holidays at all where you're from?
