[ the last time she graced the network with her presence, diana of themyscira explored the wonder of food emojis. now, however, she decides to take a more traditional approach — face-to-face, well, as much as she can over these devices. while she still prefers to meet in person, this will suffice for now. what can she say, she's old fashioned like that. ]

Thanksgiving.

[ she speaks the word softly, almost contemplative, though diana offers a bright smile into the camera. ]

Back home, we had many reasons to be thankful, and we did not limit the occasion to one day. Still, family and friends. [ her smile widens. ] That is something to celebrate.

What other — [ a careful pause, her nose wrinkling a bit. ] "holidays" are there?

I think you'll find it varies a lot from culture to culture - and from time to time.

[She smiles.]

For example, on my Earth, every year we celebrate First Contact Day, to mark the first time humanity encountered beings from another planet. I haven't run into anyone else who celebrates that, other than others from my world of course.

[ diana returns her smile, warm and amiable. ]

I have not heard of it myself. What do you do to celebrate?

Oh, it's a pretty quiet holiday, all things considered. It's a day off from school or work and we eat some traditional Vulcan dishes - the Vulcans being the first people we met - and sometimes kids will set off model rockets or fireworks at night!

[ she nods her head a bit, strands of dark hair swaying from the motion. ]

The Vulcans. [ her curiosity is piqued. ] What other beings have you met?

[She laughs.] Ah... well, that would be a long list at this point. Earth is part of the United Federation of Planets, an interstellar republic consisting of 150 member worlds.
