[ the last time she graced the network with her presence, diana of themyscira explored the wonder of food emojis. now, however, she decides to take a more traditional approach — face-to-face, well, as much as she can over these devices. while she still prefers to meet in person, this will suffice for now. what can she say, she's old fashioned like that. ]

Thanksgiving.

[ she speaks the word softly, almost contemplative, though diana offers a bright smile into the camera. ]

Back home, we had many reasons to be thankful, and we did not limit the occasion to one day. Still, family and friends. [ her smile widens. ] That is something to celebrate.

What other — [ a careful pause, her nose wrinkling a bit. ] "holidays" are there?

[ christmas eve and christmas day, yet there isn't a thanksgiving eve to her knowledge. ]

So the celebration lasts two days.

[rightly]

Right. [ He nods, fumbling a bit. ] I mean, you don't have to celebrate both days with me.

[ she merely stares into the camera, with a knowing look. steve trevor, stop with your mixed signals, man. ]

Would you prefer that?

[rightly]

Of course not. I'd love to spend both days with you.

[ And all of his days, forever. But he's reached his sappy quota for the day so he'll keep that to himself. ]

Then let me make the choice for myself.

[ and stop presuming that she doesn't feel the same way, mister. ]

[rightly]

I wasn't trying to do otherwise. [ Really, he just wanted her to know she could choose either option. He does feel a little bad now, though. ] Sorry.

If I did not want to spend time with you, Steve Trevor, you would know.

[ to soften the reprimand, she smiles gently — almost playfully. ]

No, I know. I know that. [ As if anyone ever could make Diana do anything she didn't want to. ]

I guess I just... I wanted you to know we could celebrate however we wanted to, that we didn't have to follow some sort of... rule. [ He smiles a bit sheepishly, shrugging. ] It was silly of me. I didn't mean to assume.

[ diana wanted to ensure that wasn't the case. it would not be the first time steve trevor acted on a misguided notion, though perhaps she also overreacted. ]

I assumed as well. [ which was an error on her part. ] I suppose I'm still not used to you like this.

[ it's required a bit of an adjustment, to reconcile what she knows of him now with her memory of him in the past. ]

I think we can at least agree that it's not good to make assumptions. [ He offers a small smile, raising an eyebrow. ] Used to me like this? Like what, exactly?

Being so— [ a brief pause as she considers how to phrase her response. her grin brightens. ] Open. Affectionate.

[rightly]

Ah. I see. [ A tiny fluster crawls up to his cheeks, and he looks down briefly. ] I mean, you don't mind, do you?

[ He's not going to apologize for being a sap, either way. ]

Not at all.

[ she reassures steve, maintaining her gaze on him even as he glances down. ]

[rightly]

Then you won't mind if I don't stop.

[ Just a fair warning of sorts. He smiles lopsidedly at her. ]

I'll let you know once we're closer to Christmas time? So we can get ready together. [ Basically go on a Christmas decoration shopping spree. ]
