[ baby's first network post and it'll be an anonymous text post, because Kaneki's priority is to know just how bad his situation really is without having others freaking out. He has thousands of questions, but none are as important as these: ]
Does anyone know what Ghouls are? Do they exist in your world? Do they exist here?

And what do you picture a ghoul to be?

They were called Proxies.
Previous to meeting one of those it was always a very.. nebulous thing. Not something definable. But once you have a 9 foot tall monster staring you down in your bathroom it's a little bit hard not to make it your personal 'boogie man'

Were they common in your world?

I think they were more common, before. But as I came to understand they were a... dying breed, so to speak.
I suppose I only say monsters because they were so... different from me. Or at least I thought.

Who the hell knows. I wasn't about to stop and ask while we were being attacked.

The one I travel with isn't so different from me 90% of the time. It's only when his temper flares that things get a little.. tense.
And I myself... let's just say I was 'derived' from one. I suppose living in Romdeau trained me to behave a little better, though.

What do you mean, derived?

I might rebut that for certain proxies. I met one that seemed incapable of anything other than screaming and violence.
Technically all fellow citizens of Romdeau dome are slightly derived from a proxy. The proxy is what allowed us to create children in the wombsys when humans became incapable of conceiving and carrying children on their own.
In my case.. I was directly cloned from proxy DNA. Imperfectly, but directly.

From what I understood of my doctor's notes on one he was studying - no. Their physiology is different as well as their base cells. The combination of human DNA and... something to do with proxies is what allowed for creation of human life.
I'm not entirely sure of the processes and Daedalus' information is permanently lost in the rubble of the dome. So anything I had to say past that would be false postulating.

So, people are born from proxies, have similar DNA, some look like people. Isn't that... people? Just different?
But well, he isn't from her world, he can't really argue that, can he? ]
I see. I'm sorry, it just sounds a bit strange to me, I never heard of proxies or Romdeau dome or Daedalus.

[ Re-L's just one of those people that considers them to not be people. Just like autoreivs can't have souls because they're mechanical. A Romdeau downfall she still hasn't really grown out of just yet.
Also negate the fact that she's currently traveling with one of those weird proxies and doesn't consider him completely not human - shades of grey that vary only in minuscule amounts. ]
Not a bad thing, honestly. If all of them were here I'd probably be the one the most shocked.

For one - they're dead, when it comes to Romdeau and Daedalus.
For two, if proxies were here, they'd have more problems than lizards.

I wouldn't mind having Vincent or the autoreivs who travel with us showing up. The rest... to say the least I can do without.
