It pans around for a minute, and then Dany appears, clothes and hair immaculate as those who've since met her may be accustomed to seeing by now. The expression on her face is cool out of habit, though her head is tilted, indicating that she's open to conversing, and curious. )

Prior to my arrival here, I cannot say there has been a single occasion upon which I've had to prepare or cook my own food. Not even when we crossed a desert.

( And then her expression twists, pinching into something remotely sheepish and rueful. )

Would that it were otherwise. I'm no great talent with this oven or stove; nor even with wood and flame. But I would know what sort of dishes you favoured back home, and if you might share toe recipes for them, if you know them.

—other than honeyed locusts, anyway. ( If they're to someone else's taste, fine; but yuck. ) I intend to learn.

It sounded terrible as another ate them. They were also poisoned besides.

( She's eaten a lot of things she considers undesirable to survive. Insects have never been one of them, thankfully. )

Poisoned? Were they the one that the poison was intended for?

[Forgive her, it's in her nature to ask questions constantly.]

And yeah, it's a spicy noodle dish with chicken and shrimp and chili and peanuts and lime. It's almost like magic how it can make you feel better.

[A beat.]

Well, not real magic, not like some people have here. Or elsewhere, I guess.

No; someone was attempting to assassinate me. It's happened before, too. Wine, on that occasion.

( She says all this as if it's nothing more than a matter of fact. )

Does anywhere offer it here to... dine in? I want to try it.

( As in now, right now. It sounds like Essos, and the only good thing about her time over there aside from her dragons and Missandei and generally liberating Slaver's Bay was the food. )

Why was someone attempting to assassinate you? You must have been someone really important back home.

[And then a sigh.]

Not that I've found so far. But I'm going to keep looking. Do you like spicy food? There's the Oden stand. It's like a noodle soup.

( A pause: )

Indeed I do. Lamb, rice, shrimp, fruit. Have you tried the fare at this noodle stand yet?

[maybe Alex should be surprised by the fact that there's a princess here but somehow she's not. It just goes along with everything else. So she nods.]

Yeah. It's good. Almost better than the ramen back home.
