So everyone knows about alternate universes now. But have they seen any strange ones?

And I mean, strange like. Is your evil alternate twin running around here? Or a good looking one (but with a beard?)

I'm just kind of curious as to what people know about alternate universes and what they've noticed about them.

I wouldn't have believed you three months ago, but I think I can now.

So I guess this means you've been in a couple different universe than this one, too?

Yeah. Something like that.

What was the other universe you were in like? Any evil twins?

I don't have any, but I've seen a few. But it was pretty normal, I guess.

Wait you were serious about that part??? I thought you were just throwing out examples!

Why would I make it up??

[yokunaru]

No idea. I thought you were just listing something you'd heard about. Even back home people liked to speculate about alternate universes.

Where did the evil twins come from? They're not something you have to deal with often, are they?

[supersweet]

It's kind of complicated, but it was really just one time.

[yokunaru]

It does sound complicated.

Would you mind telling me about it? Even though I was pulled through another portal before, there's still a lot about alternate universes I don't know.

I was born in a different reality. There were two people like my dad and mom. I don't think they were evil though.

So more like "twins but not evil ones"?

That doesn't sound too bad. Confusing, but at least they weren't evil, right?

Yeah, but they died. And an evil one did come along.

[Suddenly things just got 10x more complicated...?]

Wait, so there were three versions of the same person at some point?

Yeah. Except the evil clone was like an interdimensional evil clown. With a hat.

You lost me at evil clown.

I thought the other version was supposed to be from another universe? Or were they just pretending to be one of your parents?

Yeah. No surprise there.

[ Everyone would get lost at the evil clown part. ]

Okay let me start again. My parents were from another universe. The originals died. THEN evil clown pretendy guy showed up.

That actually makes a lot more sense. Not that I've run into any evil clowns before.

I'm sorry about what happened to the other version of your parents, though.

Wait that was kind of nosy, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to.

Dunno.

It's not something we talked about. It's scary.

Like the portals between these universes. You said there were objects that could pull people between places, right? Do you think that's what happened here?

[supersweet]

That's what makes the most sense to me. I dunno if anyone else knows more about portals or not.

They did say during the orientation that the portal draws people who need new homes.

That's already more information than they were willing to give us in the other universe. All I heard there was that the portals were random and there was no way to predict them.

They might not be lying either. Portals can be weird. If a special object is triggered, there's no telling where you might go.
