informal poll for you guys. if you had to choose, is this place more like:
a) fantasia, from the neverending story
b) oz, from the wizard of oz
c) wherever the hell it was with the muppets and stuff, from labyrinth
d) wonderland, from alice in wonderland
[ The question might seem like a frivolous one, but the answers should actually be pretty informative, and it's way more fun than just asking people to describe what this place is really like. ]

Happens to me all too often
[ unseen, she's smiling to herself. ]
I imagine it all as an Agatha Christie novel.
are you aspiring to be like him, then, Mr. Ramon?
[ a spy. ]

naw, i know i'm not suave enough to pull that off. i always wanted to be q. he's the guy that makes all the fancy tech that bond uses in the field. watches that double as flashbombs, sunglasses that are actually x-ray vision, that sort of thing.

Such things really exist?
Rather useful these, if they do.
[ sign her up for 10 pairs. ]

and better.
[ Is he boasting a little? Maybe just a touch. But hey, if there's one thing in the world Cisco is confident enough to boast about, it's his ability to make mind-bending tech, in high-pressure situations. I mean, hell. He'd built a telepathy-blocker. He'd built a freaking time machine. Xray sunglasses are nothing. ]
that's supposed to be my job here, coming up with ideas for 'such things'.
so if you ever have need of some gadgetry, you know... hit me up, peggy.

I'm afraid that even for my own time, I am not entirely tech-savvy.
no subject
and i mean, correct me if i'm wrong cuz i'm not a history expert, but i imagine getting tech-savvy in 1946 is probably a lot harder than when i'm from. lotta guys more interested in keeping their old boy's club private and exclusive than in actual scientific progress.
[ He's... putting that politely, but he doesn't want to plainly say "scientists were mostly racist sexist old fucks" and alienate Peggy if she feels like an insult to her time period is somehow an insult to herself. ]

[ more teasing than insulted. ]
Most men, yes.
I have a friend who despite his many faults does not share his tendency.
Unfortunately, genius as he is, I cannot for the life of me understand him most of the time.
You would like him, I wager. He is quite enthusiastic about innovating as well.
[ USUALLY FOR THE WORST BUT THAT'S #HOWARDSTARK FOR YOU. ]

we're all pieces of history from someone's perspective, right?
i knew a guy from the 24th century who said 2015 was 'barbaric times'. actual quote.
then again he was a real grade-a bastard but that's a whole other story.
i probably would like him.
that's not on you, tho. sometimes the smartest people are the ones who have the hardest time explaining stuff.

[ heaven help her, she's smiling. ]
especially when they tend to mumble to themselves. I dearly hope you don't mumble. it's an unbecoming trait.
no subject
there may be some muttering. on occasion. guilty as charged.
no subject
On occasion, of course.
