informal poll for you guys. if you had to choose, is this place more like:
a) fantasia, from the neverending story
b) oz, from the wizard of oz
c) wherever the hell it was with the muppets and stuff, from labyrinth
d) wonderland, from alice in wonderland
[ The question might seem like a frivolous one, but the answers should actually be pretty informative, and it's way more fun than just asking people to describe what this place is really like. ]

ANY INACCURACIES ARE ME HAVING A BAD MEMORY not cisco, oops
[ The summary might make the implications of what he was asking a bit clearer, at least ]
a) bullied boy goes into a storybook to a magical land full of benevolent creatures and makes friends with a dragon, saves the day by believing in himself and all that good stuff
b) bored farm girl gets knocked out during a tornado and dreams of a colorful magical land where there's fantastical versions of her friends and family. she goes on a mission to get home, gets some sweet magic shoes, kills an evil witch, saves the day
c) teenage girl accidentally lowkey sells her infant brother to a creepy goblin dude and has to go through a weird terrifying maze full of bizarre kinda terrifying creatures, to find him and get him back, saves the day by learning not to be so selfish
d) schoolgirl in victorian times follows a rabbit down a hole to a weird dimension where everything is terrifying and batshit insane and eating mushrooms makes you 30 feet tall, and giant caterpillars smoke hookahs, and there's an evil queen who keeps trying to behead her, and everything is creepy forever
no worries pal i haven't seen any of them in ages either

on that note, have you seen a bowie looking guy looking to steal some babies and marry a teenager?

[ It's a guess, that this person had seen it growing up, but something about the casual way he's making jokes about it makes Cisco think his guess is right. ]
what makes it like labyrinth, if not david bowie? cuz i'm assuming you were kidding just now.

[ He was right there with y'all on the pop culture references and making light of circumstances that are stranger than fiction, up until he had a glance over someone's theory that this might be an elaborate, uh, breeding program. Yikes.
Joke's on somebody; in some cases, a resounding lack of interest isn't the only hurdle, but sheer incompatibility. Feeling rather let off the hook, he's glad to consider this Not His Problem and get back to the real point of reading this:
Besides, uh, scoping out how many of these guys might actually be humans from his own world, and who are from somewhere a bit far outside the planetary post code.
That's more exciting than anything else. ]
i dunno about you, pal,
but some of these responses seem to be tellin' me one thing:
movie night.
[ What, no helpful speculation about their circumstances?
Nah, other folks got that covered. ]

i mean... i'm a sci-fi GUY! that's my THING!
i guess i was trying not to be TOO nerdy and i overcorrected in the opposite direction?
and you better believe i'm down for a movie night

Video - @chandra
I have no idea what those places are, have you really been to all of them?
*Chandra doesn't really get fiction, that involves reading and she doesn't do a lot of that.*
This place is like any other big city, less magic, more technology. But it has all the stuff you find.
--> video
No no no, see, they're not real places, they're just, um. Fake places. From movies.
[ Is she even going to know what movies are? This place really has the potential to be culture clash central... ]
Where I'm from, big cities don't have a lot of magic. Or, y'know, any. And neither do small cities. Or anywhere! Basically what I'm saying is any level of magic is like, way more magic than I'm used to.
