informal poll for you guys. if you had to choose, is this place more like:

a) fantasia, from the neverending story
b) oz, from the wizard of oz
c) wherever the hell it was with the muppets and stuff, from labyrinth
d) wonderland, from alice in wonderland

[ The question might seem like a frivolous one, but the answers should actually be pretty informative, and it's way more fun than just asking people to describe what this place is really like. ]

I mean, the festivals are definitely Mad Hatter level - classic storybook Mad Hatter, not the Mad Hatter I know, thank god - but I think there's some shading of option C as well. I never actually watched option A because the neverending bit kind of terrified me.

Haven't come across any Oz parts yet, but I'll let you know when I get sparkly red shoes and yellow bricks to skip on.

A villain modeled after the guy from the books, at least. He's a neurotechnician, nasty all around, uses tech to mind-control people. Sometimes kids. Sometimes an army of blonde girls or women made up to look like Alice.

there anyone like that here? i mean, that you know of?

None that I've seen yet. Thankfully. Though I'm keeping my eye out for green-haired clowns, dudes with freeze guns, and...other lunatics who shouldn't be allowed to run around all free.

no way, you've got a dude with freeze gun where you're from, too? he go by captain cold,
there, too? and we never had anyone with green hair or any clowns but there was definitely a psycho who was really into 'tricks' of the homicidal variety... sounds like our home worlds have got some things in common.
