I have come to think of it as an extended vacation.

Granted, I've been given a canister from home recently, so I know that time passes without me. I thought I'd enjoy getting away from it all more, but now it makes me very restless.

But if you must know, my home world has been obliterated and all of the people I have left are floating in a ship through space. I imagine I won't be attending any parties for a long time, once I leave here.
