[ it's late, but the stars are shining and the moon is big enough to reveal that nico is once again in the graveyard, sitting atop a gravestone as he munches some fries. his legs swing back and forth. with his mouth full, he pauses and regards the feed. ]
I've been doing a lot of thinking. Mostly about the future. So we're stuck here for five years, right? How many people are planning on staying after that? If so, why?
I mean... [ another bite of fries and he swallows this time before continuing. ] What do people miss the most about their original homes and is it enough to want to go back? If there was one thing about this place that could make you stay, what would it be?
I dunno. Anyway- Loki, I need to make sure I have Wednesday night off. And Jason, I need some advice. Also, Ed, I have a few questions about your alchemy.

[he just looks amused] Oh, I'm aware of just how weird it is. But I have to say that whatever the reason, it's nice to know I'm not the only one around here who would go to a graveyard.
no subject
Do you talk to the dead too?
no subject
[since the last dead person he talked to for any length of time was his brother]
no subject
Really? Then I'm honored to meet another person like me. I'm Nico di Angelo, son of Hades.
no subject
A pleasure to meet you. You can call me Victor.

[ nico's never been able to resurrect anyone save his sister, hazel, and that had been under special circumstances. otherwise, his powers mean summoning spirits, zombies, and animating skeletal figures. ]
Talking to ghosts is easy. If you want to test it, just come down to the graveyard.

[his eyes light up. But then he considers] I may want to bring my assistant along. She'll just ask me what happened, anyway.
no subject
[ at least, that's how he's always understood it. furthermore, even ed had mentioned that resurrection was all but impossible in his world. there had been an exception, like hazel had been for him, however... ]
Who's your assistant?
no subject
Her name is Lucy. She's intelligent and I assure you, more than capable of handling ghosts.
no subject
I know Lucy. She's pretty cool for being so young. I showed her how I shadow travel.
no subject
Heh. Sounds like there's something I'll have to ask her about.
no subject
As for the shadow traveling, I'm not opposed to demonstrating.
no subject
I'd love to observe.

[ he's now gathering up his leftovers and his coat, slipping the garbage into a pocket ( he's no litter bug! ) and stands at the ready. ]
no subject
So you can shadow travel here, although you've never been before? That's fascinating. [he helpfully moves the camera back to show his housing. He was given private housing, so it's not like Nico's appearance is going to startle anyone]
no subject
[ said with a shrug. then, the feed goes black and a second later, nico is stepping out of a shadow behind victor. ]
See what I mean?
no subject
Ah. Yes, I see. Well... you're welcome to rest here a while if you need it.

[science mode engaged. But also doctor mode]

If I made multiple short jumps, it wouldn't tire me out as much. But if I did it in one long go, it would. Mostly it tires me out because the shadows can be draining. I once took a forty foot statue and two other passengers along with me from Athens to New York. But because of the effort, I almost went into a shadow coma. Meaning, I almost faded into the shadows permanently.

I once had my arm torn off by a man I brought back from the dead. I still have the scar. [he smiles humorlessly. And yes, he's aware this statement is hard to believe when he has two arms that are intact and made of flesh and blood]
no subject
You must've had a really good healer then. And I'm guessing you cannot control the dead you rise. That would be the difference between us.
no subject
You're the son of a death god and I'm a mortal man. I'd say that would be the difference between us.
