I guess this is a second introduction. Mostly because I just joined the Perimeter Guard. So, I'm Makoto Yuuki, I was the leader of S.E.E.S. at Gekkoukan High School, a specialized combat squad.

I'll be glad to give an example of my skills but it's really not for the faint of heart. I know that anyone who goes into combat though should have an idea of what to expect from me and my Persona's.

[j.snow is a young man with dark hair and a beard; he sounds English, but he isn't. Today he's wearing an ordinary dark t-shirt that doesn't carry any implications about where he comes from.

His expression is serious, but friendly.]

So far, nothing specialized. I guess that means a little bit of everything? I'm a student at the university as well so I didn't want to overwhelm myself.

I'm not specialized either.

I was a soldier once too, though -- at home. What sort of combat did S.E.E.S. do?

We were dedicated to exploring a tower called Tartarus and fighting creatures called Shadows. Eventually evolving to the point where we were trying to prevent the Fall.

[northerndragon]

The fall of what?

And what were these creatures called Shadows like?

[Shadows, White Walkers, the Wall, a tower called Tartarus... he wonders how many similarities there really might be, and his interest shows in his face. There's always a chance he might learn something that will help his people in the years to come.]

It was just called the Fall but it would have wiped out all human life. Humans have forgotten the joy of living, so they were subconsciously calling to Nyx to bring about the end.

Shadows are a little harder to explain. They looked like all sorts of things but they fed on, I suppose, the consciousness of people who couldn't defend themselves against them.

[Makoto would be pretty interested in the similarities too, actually.]

[He nods slowly, looking thoughtful.]

Shadows... they were magic? And this Nyx was the same?

Yeah, basically. You had to have a Persona to fight either. And be able to function in the Dark Hour which-

There is no Dark Hour here, I realized.

Oh, good. I'd hate for that to happen. You're good company, and the stash of tuna I collected would go to waste.

Gotta keep that kitten happy. Tuna seems like the best offering to stay on his good side.

He's just going to stare for a moment. He doesn't mean for it to be rude but wow.

And then he remembers how to speak.]

[He had expected that. The people here were so strange to him, he couldn't help but think he must be strange to them as well, so he waited patiently while the human figured out what to do or say.]

You said you have a skill set. Would you mind if we trained together one day? Not one on one, against each other. Nothing against you or myself, but I would like to know what to expect working with you. I'm not familiar with a... persona, you called it?

[He is strange but also very cool. Makoto is still a teenaged boy who had spent a lot of his vacations during school playing an online game.]

Ah, yeah. Persona, it's sort of a manifestation of a Persona User's personality. Igor explained it like a mask that people wear and show the world around us.

[But since he's fairly honest...] I'm up for training anytime you want. I haven't got a load of classes in the university yet so I'm free a lot.

[Would that he knew anything about that, but he can learn. Oh, he can learn!]

[And... learn he must, if a human can use their personality as a weapon. Is that like anger bursts? Or joyfulness?]

I've been exposed to a number of weapons during my time, but that's not one I'm familiar with, I'm afraid. I don't think I am. I would like to see it, to know what to expect, when you're available. You're a student at the university here?

Maybe next week or something? I just joined so I should probably get caught up on a few things. Then we can head outside to the Abandoned City or something?

I am a student though, yeah.
