[ The video starts with one of Jim's usual smiles. For those who recognize the location, he's sitting at his desk at the Perimeter Guard. ]

So, after some rocky couple of months, it looks like we're settling in for a quieter month. I don't know about you, but I'm definitely not complaining. Everyone should take the opportunity to relax a little and have some fun, but please be careful. Keep in mind that things can stop being peaceful and safe pretty fast.

Building on that thought, I'd like to reinforce we are always accepting new members at the Perimeter Guard. Can't have too many of us. Also, if you can pilot ships, shuttles or airplanes, I'm always looking for more members for the aerial unit, more specifically.

If anyone's curiosity is piqued, feel free to drop by and ask for Captain James T. Kirk. I'll be happy to show you around.

[ And he leans in as though he's turning off the camera...

Brilliant. That's just what I like to hear.

[ Not that he's extremely understaffed, but a few people have left recently, and Jim would like to strengthen his unit a little more. Or else he'll never manage to map out and explore the entirety of the moon like he plans to. ]

What sort of things can you fly? Any type of spacecraft?

Flown a few in my day, oui. [And he nods.] And I'm a quick study.

Alright, then. I'd like to see how well you do with the shuttle, but if you have experience then I don't think there should be any issues.

[He nods at that.]

Sho' nuff, mon ami. You want me ta meet you somewhere?

The Perimeter Guard would work best. I'll be around for a couple hours today, if that doesn't work for you then we can meet tomorrow.

[He nods.]

I can stop by, assumin' you mean now.

Yeah, right now works just perfectly. Just ask for me if you can't find your way to the shuttle bay.

[And contrary to all appearances, Remy leBeau is actually a man of his word most of the time, especially when it involves lending a hand and helping people out. The Perimeter Guard headquarters is, by no means, a small installation, but there are also telltale signs of the proper direction. Also, when you're someone who's really good at acting like you belong somewhere, people tend to not ask questions.

Once he gets there is a different story, though, but he follows the sounds of what seems to be someone busy at work, and raps on whatever tool bench or table might be near.]

Monsieur Kirk?

[ Jim's inside the shuttle, actually, but even from in there it's easy to hear that voice. He pokes his head out, recognizing both the voice and the face as the guy he was just talking to over the network. Smiling, he makes his way over, offering a hand for a shake. ]

Jim will do just fine, thanks. [ He's never been one for formalities, much less so around here. ] And what do I call you? You never said.

[A smiling Remy nods and takes the hand when it's offered.]

D'accord, Jim. And de name's Remy. Remy leBeau.

[winscenario]

[ Jim gives the hand a firm shake, then lets go. ]

Nice meeting you, Remy. So— [ He gestures around vaguely. ] Where do you wanna start?

[ This actually constitutes the first time Remy has set foot into this part of the guard HQ before, and he cast his gaze around, not really sure what the correct answer should be. ]

Said you were lookin' for pilots, right?

[winscenario]

Among other skills, yes. [ He nods. ] We can go for a spin, if you feel up to it.

[ Jim's not worried. He can take control of the shuttle at any time, should Remy not be able to handle it on his own. He sounded sure before, but can't be too careful. ]

[ The former thief, current superhero nods. ]

Sounds like a plan. Been a while, though. How' 'bout you give me a primer, eh?

[ Jim nods, leading the way into the shuttle. ]

How about I take us out first, so you can see how the shuttle works, then you take over just for a little while? See if you can adjust.
