[Tony and Loki staring at everyone with shiteating grins on this great fourth of July.]

We’re happy to present the American Eagle. Customized for this very celebration, Captain America’s birthday. It has many features. Note its colourful plumage and the fact that it can sing the national . . . anthem? I believe that is what it called. Though why a nation needs its own song, I know not.

[Tony rolling his eyes.]

Because God Bless America etc etc. Our great nation was created so we may all look upon those asses today.

And since I blessed it last year, I have come again to bless it once more. With this eagle and my continued presence to his ass.

[Presenting the burd. It starts to sing.



Tony meanwhile is taken aback.]

Wait what? When did you hit that? Which one?!

[ Loki blinks. ]

I'm unfamiliar. How does it go?

You want me to sing? That's... probably not a great idea.

Sing for me?

[livingsymbol]

Now? I can't promise it'll be any good. There's no music.

Whenever.

[ Loki doesn't care if it's good or if it lacks music, as long as it's for him. ]

Well... All right.

[ Loki seems so attached to the idea that Steve can't really refuse. He can at least offer something back to these two anyway. After a pause, he sings. It's pretty much as promised, but if it satisfies Loki and maybe even Tony, it's worth it. ]

[ Loki is entranced, giving the song his full attention. ]

It's lovely.

[ When he's done, Steve laughs quietly and scratches his head. ]

It's a nice song. Better with an actual singer.

[dothelokimotion]

[ Loki huffs, bemused. ]

It's fine the way you do it.

Well, thank you. I never really liked the stage, but singing for you isn't so bad.

[dothelokimotion]

[ His lips curve upwards. ]

As long as it's for me, then.

[livingsymbol]

[ It's not like Steve really has a reason to sing otherwise. ]

Do it again when I come by.

[livingsymbol]

Mm, all right. Although that eagle might drown me out.

I'm sure I can bring him down to a manageable level.

Mm. And reach him new songs. What other tricks does he know?

[ Ah. Loki pauses. ]

I suppose I could make him shower stardust as he flies by.

[Over Loki's shoulder.]

...Did you want me to sing?

[Tony, that was terrible. Why would you want that?]

You said it's a private concert just for him and I'm literally standing right here.

I appreciate everything about you, I'd like to hear you sing some more. What makes him so special?

[Steve gives Tony a questioning look that is almost a smile.]

Well, that was for later. I don't think you're planning on spending the night, are you?

[It's meant to be a joke.]

It's not that good. I don't know why you two are making a big deal out of this.

[Tony speaks on reflex except then his brain tells him the likely reason for what he just heard.]

Wait. I thought he was dating the shiny you?

[inebriety]

[Steve's singing has been saved now. Tony is going to have multiple copies uploaded on various servers so it is never lost.]
