Hi Riverview! My name's Gabby and I'm new here! I was in New York before. The one with the superheroes. And now I'm here! Unfortunately, I think I lost all my stuff? And my caseworker kind of freaked out when I gave her the list, so maybe you guys can help me!

I'm missing my MAC-10 machine pistols, nunchucks and knuckle busters. Anyone knows where to get those? Oh, and a proper bullet proof suit.

Oh right, Christmas is a thing too.

Yeah it is, and it ends up being kind of a big deal here too.

How come we celebrate Christmas in space?

Are we saying Santa was an alien?

Well, I think it's more that there's enough of us from Earth that it kinda becomes a default Christmas rather than a winter holiday.

I do have a friend back home who is entirely convinced that Santa is an alien though. So who knows!

[ hmm, now she has to find out. ]

It would make more sense.

Yeah it would, I mean clearly he needs to have some sort of magical ability to get around the world in that time. Or something like it.

[Back home, Alex does not believe in Santa Claus in the slightest. But here given all the magic and stuff she knows of? Why the hell not?]

Maybe he was the first mutant! The first person to get abilities.

[ or a clone. 95% chance of clones is inevitable. ]

Hey, that definitely could be it. Like a combination of both being super fast and super able to carry heavy things and super able to change his size in order to fit down all those chimneys.

I'll bet Santa was his superhero name too.

Well, it definitely would have to be in order to protect his identity. And let's be honest, the North Pole sounds like a badass place for a hero lair.

Yeah, no one would ever look for someone there.

[ she's never been there, come to think about it. gabby puts that on the list. ]

Also it's really really cold. And this is coming from a Canadian who knows cold.

Oh, right. That would bother people.

I don't feel pain. So my senses are kinda numb.

Wow. That must be really scary.

It's hard to miss something you've never had.

[ gabby felt pain briefly once. it sucked but it didn't leave a lasting impression. she knows, deep down, that not having it robbed her of all the things that made her more . . . normal.

I guess it is. And we adapt and learn different ways of knowing something's wrong, right?

[Cause pain is a glowing stop sign of something being wrong, which is why not having it would scare Alex.]

Is that how it works?

I just thought it sucked.

Well, I mean it sucks too, but it sucks for a reason. Pain is there as a signal that something isn't right with your body, that you've injured it or whatever.

Not knowing would be scary for me, probably because I've always had it.

[honeybadgerer]

Yeahhhh, I've never had it? So to me, it just sucks.

I can definitely see how it both sucks and would be a bonus.
