I'm missing my MAC-10 machine pistols, nunchucks and knuckle busters. Anyone knows where to get those? Oh, and a proper bullet proof suit.

Uuuh... Cloud...man Shepherd? Cloudel Spaniel? A Great Cloud?

[ gabby shoots him a flat look. ]

Wow, you just flunked any chance of becoming a vet.

Man, and here I spent all my savings on vet school.

[He looks like a lil' shit when he says that, but what else is new.]

[ she rolls with it. ]

I bet you don't even have savings.

[He is so indignant! Sort of. Okay, it's faked indigence, he knows he looks like he can't hold money to save his life.]

... But it's for a rent deposit.

[ she peels herself away from the window to look at him. ]

You're getting your own place? On your own?

Well... Yeah!

[He blinks, straightening up.]

I just turned sixteen, figured if I'm old enough to be emancipated in some places and I can hold a job, I might as well handle myself here. Any screw-ups at this point's part of the experience, right?

[He may be pretty inexperienced in a lot of ways, but it helps being intimately familiar as of late with being broke as shit. Moving apartments, balancing bills, worrying about expiring car tags or bad brakes or shopping thrifty, that's just the usual.]

[ gabby looks skeptical. ]

You won't hate being alone?

I think I'm usually too busy to be alone there!

... Besides, despite all appearances, I can be kinda introverted. Sometimes the quiet is good for my head.

[Also he has so much input all the time, it's good to have a place with just him there?

It's weird to explain that he can hear all the heartbeats of his community housing roommates, if it's quiet at night.]

[He blinks, wringing his hands a little.]

I've never been alone. I always had my sisters.

So being by myself — it isn't scary but it feels wrong.

[ even more so since she has survived, but the rest are dead. in the ways she can look into the mirror and not see herself, but all her sisters, reflected back at her. ]

Ah... That makes sense. I'm kind of used to it more — I'm an only child, and it's just me and my aunt back home... And she has to work, so I'm used to being alone 'til she gets back in. [He shrugs.] It's not a big deal for me, but I can get how it'd feel weird.

Luckily, there's plenty of people here who'll be happy to hang with you in community housing.

All my roommates were pretty nice.
