He taps a pencil on a clipboard, his bid to look professional. Even his hair is combed back, a few strands tied together with a silver clasp. ]

Greetings. I work at the Gramarye Research Facility for Magic and I was hoping to get some examples of magic taken place in Riverview. Any will do, even ones where your own magic has clashed with the rules of this reality. If you could make it short and precise, I would be most . . . grateful.

It's an old reference to my name. I imagine someone was trying to be clever.

Real work does not happen on the network in visible view. This is merely a starting point. Whether it yield useful gains or not isn't my highest priority.

[ He's not the best at recognizing when he sees something weird. His sight is... interesting, like that. So now he's wondering what he did. ]

I had cast an illusion over myself. You should not have seen me.

[ There's a pause, taking that in. He looks a little put off by it, the first sign of anything near the sort. ]

I've got good eyes. Not magic.

No human's eyes are that good.

They're... supernatural, I'll give you that. Those are different distinctions where I'm from.

And yet a distinction you deliberately avoided until now.

[ No, but the use of normal and the way Jacob stuck to his story is more than enough for Loki to be suspicious. ]

I'm hardly expecting miracles.

[ Oh, he can be as suspicious as he wants. Cain is more than normal enough compared to his gd brother. In his own mind. ]

Is that your way of saying you're already looking to compromise on your request?

One should always be open to compromise.

[ And while Loki isn't the type of person to compromise, he can certainly bluff and hedge his way into one. ]

But it seems it is quite clear that your eyes function quite well in Riverview.
