Hello. [He says, and he needs to pause because he feels like he's talking to himself.]

In amongst recent.. events, I thought it might be of some use to offer training in strength and combat. We are well protected, to be sure, but a new start in life can be enriched with new skills. If you are interested in learning, I can make myself available.

And on that note- [The camera shifts as he stands, and he swivels it to pan over a sad, indoor collection of potted plants. All in varying states of death. It's a horror movie for plant-based life forms.]

In the interest of learning new skills, I have begun to garden. I am aware it has not gone to plan. [He swivels the camera back to himself, unimpressed.]

I need a hardy plant, one that can withstand my novice abilities. I've no care for something pretty, I just want it to live. [The saddest request he's ever made, he's sure.]

If you have experience in this area, I'd be interested to know why my plants have made a murderer of me. I can provide coffee for your services.

The man in the broadcast looks as if he belongs in some tale of chivalry written long ago, ready to gallop away on a white stallion to save his lady love from certain demise.]

Anyone who feels the need to protect themselves ought to learn. I hold no disdain for this place, but there is much we cannot control and much we cannot predict.

We are well protected, of course. But there may come a time when it proves useful.

Anywhere can become a battlefield, sure enough.

I reckon I can aim a gun well enough, but I haven't got one here.

We have no guns in my world, but I must admit I have been curious about wielding one.

I can teach you defense without such weapons, if it interests you.

A hammer?

[It sounds barbarous to him, incongruous with the man's appearance and manner of speech.]

Where I'm from, it's been a long while since wars were fought with tools like that.

It's not commonplace where I come from, but then again, it's not a normal hammer.

Swords, bows and arrows and spears are normal.

I don't know how well any of that suits me, if I'm being honest.

I did not mean to impress upon you that these weapons are a necessity. My intent with these lessons is to teach hand-to-hand combat, primarily.
