[When the feed flicks on, Thor's face engulfs it before he notes to move it back a little more. He's alright with technology, but not great.]

Hello. [He says, and he needs to pause because he feels like he's talking to himself.]

In amongst recent.. events, I thought it might be of some use to offer training in strength and combat. We are well protected, to be sure, but a new start in life can be enriched with new skills. If you are interested in learning, I can make myself available.

And on that note- [The camera shifts as he stands, and he swivels it to pan over a sad, indoor collection of potted plants. All in varying states of death. It's a horror movie for plant-based life forms.]

In the interest of learning new skills, I have begun to garden. I am aware it has not gone to plan. [He swivels the camera back to himself, unimpressed.]

I need a hardy plant, one that can withstand my novice abilities. I've no care for something pretty, I just want it to live. [The saddest request he's ever made, he's sure.]

If you have experience in this area, I'd be interested to know why my plants have made a murderer of me. I can provide coffee for your services.

[ hello thor, here is a lady who looks considerably less blue than the last time you saw her. she recognizes him just slightly, but enough to be drawn to respond-- ]

A cactus. Impossible to kill, from my understanding. [ that's wryly, but still with considerably more life to it than usual. but more to the point: ] What sort of skills is it you offer?

[Thor raises a brow at her change in appearance, but she's not the only one who has gone through some changes this week.

He wonders if it's rude to ask.]

I have seen a cactus before, but I thought they only grew in the desert. [Hmm.] Perhaps they will make a good fit.

[He'll ponder on that for a while, but he goes on to answer her question.] Thousands of years of experience, fighting beast and man. I primarily fight with a hammer, but hand to hand and close combat are very familiar to me.

If you're serious about that offer, I'd be interested in training.

Though I'm no help with the plants.

Good God, man!

[ she may not be an enthusiast but Peggy Carter is still an Englishwoman and the state of his garden is simply horrid. ]

What have you done to them?

[ she'll get to the training part once she's done being indignant. ]

You thought wrong, mon loulou, they grow wherever they're placed and watered occasionally — provided the sunlight is good, of course.

But cacti aside, thousands of years is quite the resume. What does that make you, if I may ask?

[ look, Tony can so not help with the gardening thing, he was not known for his green thumb, however--]

Uh, you want like... digital plants the emulate a real plan until you get the hang of that there, Thor?

[ no, really, even though he cannot garden to save his life, Tony is a little sad to see such carnage. ]

[Did someone say plants?! Admittedly those are... particularly sad ones, but everyone has to start somewhere.]

Succulents would probably be your best bet, or maybe some sort of fern. [She smiles.] I'd be happy to help you get started, if you'd like.

[He sticks to sending his message via text, because this is for him the more familiar route and so the more comfortable route too. The man in the broadcast looks as if he belongs in some tale of chivalry written long ago, ready to gallop away on a white stallion to save his lady love from certain demise.]

You really think everyone here ought to trained for combat, sir?

Would I tend to them as I tend to living plants? [Because it really looks like you've done a whole lot of tending there, Thor.]

I pursued gardening as a hobby because I was told it was soothing, yet I have not seen such desolation in my entire life. [When all else fails, turn to dramatics.] I had also heard there is satisfaction in a job well done, when something you've nurtured from a seed grows into something impressive.

Like a child.

[He pauses.] With less screaming.

[These plants are as delicate as his ego is, currently.]

I have heard tell of succulents in my magazines, but I do not possess a discerning eye when choosing plants to take to their grave. [Sometimes you have to laugh. Only he's not laughing.]

Any help would be greatly appreciated and greatly rewarded.

I did as instructed. [Thor says, equally indignant.]

I nurtured them! Frequently and vigorously.

No harm, I've been scolded enough for my endeavors into gardening. [He's a little sullen, but he perks up.]

I am perfectly serious. May I ask what about it interests you?

I shall take note, and pursue them later. [He's not sure where he'll get a cactus, but he'll find out.]

Old. [He says curtly, but with humor.] Asgardian. My race is known for longevity, among other things.

[So as not to confuse himself further, Thor switches to text as well.]

Anyone who feels the need to protect themselves ought to learn. I hold no disdain for this place, but there is much we cannot control and much we cannot predict.

We are well protected, of course. But there may come a time when it proves useful.

[Beverly bites back a laugh, remembering her own first failed attempts at gardening.]

No reward is necessary! You're simply giving me an excuse to do more of what I love.

Old is right; I was trying to be generous with my question. [ a pause, as she considers his username, then consults with fuzzy memories ... huh, it's coming back to her. ] Thor, wasn't it? Things make somewhat more sense, now.

I'd like to learn some combat skills.

(The sight of the potted plants is quite depressing; she gives him a sympathetic smile.)

Unfortunately I don't know all that much about plants, but I could always look into it for you. It seems unfair to ask you to teach me something in return for nothing.

I'm working with the police, and I'm trained to deal with human threats, not... a lot of what I could be facing here. I'd like to branch out my skill set as much as possible.

[ She rattles this off matter-of-factly, completely serious. Anderson is a bit of a stick in the mud until she lightens up. ]

Yup. [ is he obnoxious and popping that 'p'? maybe. maybe he is.

the mention of Thor trying gardening because it is soothing makes Tony laugh though. yeah, maybe you should try.. knitting or something there. something where there is no corpses left behind, plants or not.]

Well, I can agree with the second part, it is pretty awesome to see something grown from nothing, though my experience is more with machines than plants. However, I can create ... training plants I guess? Or maybe you should try knitting. That would also be a good one.

[ no really, knit a cosy for Mjolnir or something. that would be great.]

And maybe... yeah, avoid the kid thing.

[ he wants to point out that Loki is child-sized right now, but he doesn't.]

( The feed offered a view of a young boy in his early teens at best. But the look on his face was distant, surprisingly disinterested and unimpressed with what he's seen so far. )

Tt. First, what kind of plants do you have?

( The view shifted, enough for Damian to lean forward wherever he's sitting to perch his elbow on the desk and tip his cheek against his hand. ) Different plants will require various degrees of care and commitment. You don't treat them all the same.

( One dark brow lifted as he gave the man a few seconds to process his words before continuing. )

Second, when do you train? ( He're more than capable of handling himself, but as long as he was here, he planned to make the most of whatever training resources he could. The more he learned, the more fierce an opponent he could become. )

[ Ah, gardening. Yuuto is barely a novice himself, having only aided a friend with her own gardening on the school roof back home when she needed it. He's picked up very little, hardly enough assist someone who clearly needs it.

So he's no help there, but it's the first portion of his video that catches Yuuto's attention. ]

What types of combat do you know?

[ It isn't that Yuuto is completely useless fighting wise—he does have experience. But when he's trying to put on the image of a normal teenager, it may be suspicious that he knows how to take on something should the time ever arise (such as those huge... bird things that threatened the city weeks ago), and he can't switch to his phantom thief persona in front of someone. At least if he could say he got lessons from someone... not to mention, he isn't against seeing if he could pick up a new trick or two. ]

[He's fairly sure this is the wrong Thor, despite the name and similar appearance- having two arms gives that away quite quickly. But it's a link to his team, even a tenuous one, and considering his team is the closest thing he has left to friends, he'll take the chance on this Thor also being relatively friendly and hopefully as tough.]

I don't need to learn to fight, but it might be useful to practice with someone I don't need to hold back against.

[Looks like a Hulk, dresses like a Hulk, talks in a surprisingly quiet but deep voice.]

Thor, it is. I take it the name is familiar beyond our first meeting. [Though he's not sure how well she remembers that.]

Is my wisdom enough to offer?

You're in luck, then. I have vast experience battling both beasts and magical beings alike.

I can meet you in the gym. When is a suitable time for you?

Two brothers and a sister is more than enough for me. [He's aware that Loki is a child. He's had breakfast with him, he's been woken up by him, he's had the full older brother experience.]

Knitting is for elder maids, Stark. If you have want of a scarf, you'd do well to purchase one instead.
