[ when the feed clicks on, it looks as if Tony hasn't seen his actual skin in about thirty six hours (or a bed for that long, at that, but what else is new?). there is grease smeared more of less everywhere and his hair looks like it was styled using a fork and an electrical sock, but he is grinning and looks very pleased with life as he addresses the network.]

So, since the incident that happened a few months ago involving monsters and other bullshit, I have been trying to put together a defense system for the Quarantine that would act as a primary system to both alerting us about any predators that might get too close, as well as perhaps even as a system that can be used to stun said things for easier removal deeper into the forest. [ look, Loki, he is thinking this time.]

I have come up with a prototype, [ he moves slightly to gesture over his shoulder and, if you are looking close enough you might see a turret shape amidst all the chaos in his workshop, wearing a ridiculous red, blue, and white crown but whatever ] named it Cake so far, but-- well I know that I am not the only engineer here and I think that help would be greatly appreciated.

[ sure he is sure enough that he knows this will work, but it has taken him the better part of two months to get Cake here to the point where he was confident in its build and coding. and the Quarantine will need more than one for this to work.]

Basically, what I am asking for is anyone with any background in coding, or mechanical engineering to help out in the construction and streamlining of these defensive turrets; I have coding done, but more eyes the better. I have also managed to test it out a few time with the help of some friends, but-- I know you can never be too careful.

[ Yeah, the lack of key is noticed. Seeing as Cain also has a bead on Tony's bigger goals, re: Make Cain Admit His Problems, he isn't going to take the bait and ask for that part of it. He's just gonna do this other thing and pretend like the lack of key isn't tripping him up. ]

Surprised you aren't asking for volunteers to act nonthreatening to help hone it down.

Well I thought about it, but I feel like asking someone to be a target for my defensive turret might only go over well with my friends honestly.

You're not acting as bait, sorry Jacob. But I am hoping that it will be able to identify residences and non-lethal monsters without firing upon them. That is the point.

You would think that, but cells can be lost, replaced. Altered even. And who is to say that a monster won't get a hold of one? We don't know if there are sentient malicious beings out there or not, I would rather be ready for that.

Like bad guys waiting in the wings for the best opportunity to invade? In that case, checking for aggression isn't going to do much good anyway.

No, it won't, but there are still tells for those attempting to hide aggression, which is why I dragged Bucky into it. He is great at shit like that.

Well yeah. Minus any sense of consciousness, shit gets messy then. I have build my fair share of AI's.

Right, I do actually remember that conversation, Tony. Guess it's not as easy as just using a template and taking the consciousness out after the fact, huh?

Rather it is part of the OS that relies entirely on a verbal interface, just... some people have a preference of voice.

[ It's hard for him to really get just yet. Cain's world is pretty far off from real AI, and spoilers: it's gonna be Cain who makes it. He just doesn't know that yet. ]

For a turret system?

Eh, maybe it is one of my quirks, but I would rather not do that. Just make up something else. Something new, not that difficult. And it can be modified to suit the need better that way.

Well when you are setting it up, yes. Once it is activated, the voice option will be locked unless I interface with it. For emergencies. But at that point it will be connected to multiple other turrets and the whole defense system.

Fair enough. I'll have to see it for myself soon.

Like a domino effect in case of catastrophe.

Yeah, pretty much exactly like that. Maybe you will even be one of the lucky ones who gets an override code for it. Maybe.
