What's up, chucklefucks, it's me, Taako, everybody's favorite wizard here to beg, desperately, for you to entertain me for next eight fucking hours while I mess with this spell.

["This spell" being his transmutation stone that he needs to remake, but it takes eight hours to prepare and honestly, he's going to go crazy.]

I'll even help you out here but giving you a starting point or several, cause I'm just amazing like that.

First off, give ch'boy some movies to watch or music to listen to. Don't bother recommending Beyoncé I'm all over that already. I can't imagine any of you being interesting enough to keep me amused for eight hours so like, this is my back up plan.

The main plan is let's play a fucking game, I was gonna go with truth or dare but it's hard to police that shit on the network so we're doing two truths and a lie instead.

Ready?

1. I've been a professor
2. I turned a dude into a cat for cheating on me and never turned him back
3. One time I fucked up a spell and everything I drank tasted like key lime gogurt for six months

[[ooc: feel free to threadjack on this one if it gets interesting]]

You are correct! I am of perfectly average height.

[ Which means short, considering "tall" for these guys is about 5'8". ]

And I am miqo'te. I've not seen another here so far. One moment.

[ He's by no means proficient with these devices just yet, but after a little fiddling, he switches the feed to video. He's basically a dude with cat ears, facial markings, and slit-pupiled eyes.

He twitches his ears, almost as if to say "ta-da!" ]

[ X’rhun isn’t good enough with his phone yet to just switch back over to text quickly, and it feels a little awkward to do so now that he’s turned the video on, so he’ll just keep it like this for now. ]

There are many races on Hydaelyn. I’ve not encountered them all, but in Eorzea alone, there are hyur, elezen, roegadyn, lalafell, and au ra, in addition to us miqo’te. That's not even touching upon the tribes of beastmen who are scattered throughout as well.

Had you not told me otherwise, I would have assumed you were elezen by your picture.

Mayhaps. Here in the Quarantine, I have seen many hyur- humans, I believe is the more common term- but not too many others.

What sorts of races do you have in your world?

[ So crass!! Eorzeans could be perfectly blunt and lewd when they wanted, but there's something about the way Taako talks that's still kind of startling. ]

I can't say that any of those are familiar to me. But, since I see that you are a practitioner, what is magic like in your world?

My world is somewhat similar in that regard, though some people possess more of a natural talent for magic than others. With the right amount of practice, anyone can learn. The sole exception being those of the Garlean Empire, most of whom can’t use magic at all, and instead rely on technology.

[ It’s a close thing, but he manages to keep the distaste out of his tone. The Imperials are conquerors, and X’rhun’s home has been under their rule for the last couple of decades and some change. It’s a sore subject. ]

That is… quite the list. Are each of those possessed of their own kind of magic or does it simply vary based on what they choose to do with it?

There is something of a similar divide where I'm from. Black magic is purely offensive, while white magic is largely used by healers. Red magic is a combination of the two.

[ Why is it called red? Who knows! ]

Oh, no. Not by a long shot, and even the black and the white have a lot of flexibility within their respective schools. Were I to bring up a pillar of earth beneath a foe, that would be white magic. If I were to call down a lightning bolt, that would be black magic. Further still, summoning up a creature of magic to fight for me would be arcanistry.
