How do you go about picking gifts?

[ He's just going to dive right in. No real introduction, but Steve figures that most people won't care too much about who is asking this or why. ]

I'm sure a lot of you are better at this than I am, so I guess I need some advice. How do you find a good gift for someone that already has far more than you've seen for half your lifetime? Not that I'm aiming to impress anyone, but it'd be nice to pull it off.

[ He grins a little. Okay, so maybe he's trying. Just a little. But Steve is rarely the one that surprises anyone else. He just wants a chance at doing something cool for a change. Of course, he's realistic and knows this is unlikely, but he can try. ]

I'm in a little over my head on this one. Everyone else always has the flashy stuff covered.

I... don't know. I guess I never asked if he collects things.

[ He more or less assumed not, because Loki seemed like the type that would only bother to pick things up if they were useful, not sentimental. But that is Steve's bias showing, and the question makes him rethink his judgment. ]

He doesn't have a lot to say about food. I've been bringing him things to try, but most of the time he looks scared by it. Like I'm going to pull a prank on him.

[ And that's ironic. Maybe part of the reason Steve keeps doing it, too. ]

The only collector I know has always been pretty talkative when it comes to his hobby, but who knows? Might be time to do some detective work!

That, or you could try to find a way to help him unwind. This guy must be pretty stressed if even food's making him nervous...

[ He wonders how Loki will handle a sudden bout of questions. Then again, Steve can always play it off as a game. That seems to be Loki's wheelhouse. He might enjoy the questioning if it's presented the right way. ]

Heh, you'd be surprised how much good entertainment can help a person.

Not really... My partner was always a bit of a do-gooder, I guess she must've rubbed off on me.
