[ sitting in his room in marco's mansion with a record player belting out blitzkrieg bop. not so loud that he can't be heard, but it's clearly cranked up a little. nico, meanwhile, is sharpening his sword and looking a little put out. after having his memories shared with multiple people, he's not feeling too sociable. but he can hear jason grace in his head telling him he needs to get out of the house and talk to people. ]

Eight months. I've been here eight months and there's still no way to get back to camp. Back... home.

[ the fact he calls camp home now truly reveals just how much he misses his friends and family. ]

This place isn't too bad, but being the only demigod around here kind of sucks. I don't know how many people around here get homesick, but I would certainly accept even some of the gods, Greek gods showing up. No offense to you Norse types.

[ he picks up his sword and sets his thumb against the edge, cheering up a little as it nicks the skin, causing blood to well to the surface. sucking on his thumb, he sets the sword aside. ]

Whatever. Anyone want to go outside quarantine and kill some stuff?

[ ???? loki what are you up to. ]

Okay? Where do you want me?

[ikols]

In my arms, of course.

[ Spreading his arms toward the nearest shadow, he keeps his phone in-hand to flash a wink. ]

On the count of five, four, three, two ... !

[deathkid]

[ rolls his eyes, but he's there in a blink, stepping close enough for loki to embrace him. ]

You're so weird sometimes.

[ikols]

You're so prompt.

[ He scoops up Nico in a hug, eager to hold onto him. What if Nico vanishes and reappears like Billy, refusing to so much as touch Loki? He hates to think of that and buries his face affectionately in a mop of black curls. ]

It's been a while, Shadowmaster.

[deathkid]

[ flushing prettily, nico huffs, feeling the tickle of loki burying his face in his hair. loki's being more affectionate than usual, which strikes nico as odd, but he's not sure if he should mention it. ]

After that memory... whatever, I kinda wanted to find some distraction, so I headed out to the forest. Sorry if I missed anything.

[ it's a question of sorts. allowing loki to tell him whatever he wants to. ]

It's fine, you're here. I'm glad you played along and came when I called, it was fun.

[ Reassuring. A kiss plants on Nico's forehead, cool and followed by a nuzzle. ]

[deathkid]

[ yep, something's definitely up, but he allows the hold, finding comfort in it as well. ]

I wasn't doing much else. You know my shift doesn't start until later. Did you want to do something?

[ikols]

No, just saying Hi.

[ Looping a curl around a finger, he tugs. ]

Do you want the night off? I'll find cover for you.

[deathkid]

[ suppressing a pleased shudder, he shakes his head, but not hard enough to tug himself out of loki's hold. ]

To do what? I mean, I guess I can check on the graveyard, but it's been pretty quiet since October ended.

[ikols]

Whatever it is you do when you're not at work. Hang with friends? Go on dates? Chat to ghosts?

[ What is Nico's life even. ]

[deathkid]

[ nonexistent, basically. ]

I usually just come back here and listen to music. Sometimes I go hang out with Jason or Ed, but they have other people too.

[ it's lonely here, for him. and it's visible in his eyes, but he doesn't say it. he likes to think he's used to it. ]

[ikols]

[ ... Hmm. ]

You want to spend the night with me?

[deathkid]

[ not sure how to take that, his ears go red. ]

Um... sure?

[ikols]

[ Pft, cute. ]

You look spooked, spooky.

[deathkid]

[ opens his mouth, shuts it. rinse repeat. ]

Well, I just- Aside from the one time we woke up together, I've never really spent the night with someone. Unless you count quests, but that usually meant sleeping on the ground between battles and fights.

[ikols]

We can do whatever you want. Watch something, build something ...

[deathkid]

Watch something? [ interest piqued. ] How many modern films do you have? I haven't really seen, like... any.

[ikols]

I can stir up a few. [ He tweaks on Nico's hair again, grinning. ] You want to watch something supernatural so you can rip it to pieces?

[deathkid]

[ that prompts a laugh. ]

That would be pretty fun!

[ikols]

Alright, then I think Hocus Pocus is the way to go. There's a cool zombie in that.

[ Sliding his hands down Nico's sides, he encircles his waist in his hands and squeezes a little, just to feel how solid and present Nico is. ]

[deathkid]

[ a small shudder races up nico's spine as he's squeezed and he does his best not to blush. it's nice, he thinks, this constant affection. not something he's used to, and though he tends to stray from touch, this is something he can lean into. ]

Hocus Pocus it is. Lead the way.

[ikols]

[ In a swirl of green smoke that rises from the ground, he teleports them into a lounge at the Sanctum, one of the more modern, normal rooms with a comfy couch and wide TV upon which Loki usually watches the morning news and cartoons. It's just them, so he ruffles Nico's hair and gives him a gentle push onto the sofa. ]

Get comfy, I'll grab drinks. Snacks too?

[deathkid]

[ flopping back into the couch, nico stretches, his shirt riding up a little, but he's quick to pull it back down. ]

Comfy. Yeah, snacks and drinks sound good. Do you have any Coke?

[ikols]

[ He briefly entertains the notion of running his hand under Nico's shirt and exposing more of that lean belly, but no. Snacks and coke. ]

I'm sure we do, sit tight.

[ A wave at the TV and the movie starts up, with Loki leaving Nico to settle in as the godling cleans up his imagination and finds food in the kitchen. ]
