BB-8 is working on something. The screen flickers from blackness to brief color, goes dark again, then abruptly displays the following image: ]



[ Yes, it is Poe Dameron, standing nobly above a motif of X-wings, over the word "RESISTANCE" and below the words "WATCHING OVER THE SKIES AND STARS."

The background conversation stops. Poe's voice comes through clearly: ] Bee, what are you--BB-8, take that down right now.

[ Annnnnd the image vanishes. ]

Dashing. (She almost leaves it at that, but she is curious about something.) That's quite a claim. Who is BB-8?

It's a claim that belongs to the Resistance, not to me. BB-8 is my astromech. Flight assistant, droid, lightyears more sophisticated than a robot but that's the baseline most people seem to have.

Astromech? I've never seen something like that.

Considering his actions, he seems almost...sentient? (She can see the use of making a droid very smart, but if they refuse to follow orders, that could be troublesome.)

He is. He's my buddy.
