BB-8 is working on something. The screen flickers from blackness to brief color, goes dark again, then abruptly displays the following image: ]



[ Yes, it is Poe Dameron, standing nobly above a motif of X-wings, over the word "RESISTANCE" and below the words "WATCHING OVER THE SKIES AND STARS."

The background conversation stops. Poe's voice comes through clearly: ] Bee, what are you--BB-8, take that down right now.

[ Annnnnd the image vanishes. ]

Seeing a poster of some cool guy holding a helmet standing in front a fighter jet is how I got locked into the Air Force in the first place.

What the recruiters don't tell you is if you aren't already cool to start, wearing a uniform and a little hat really doesn't help. It's like five years before you get to be the cool guy.

Until then, you're just awkward guy who tries not to block cool guy's light.

But my fighter school call-sign, the one that's engraved on my plaque...Bo-Peep.
