[ It starts with a blank screen and cheerful booping that anyone who has met BB-8 will recognize, with muffled conversation in the background.

BB-8 is working on something. The screen flickers from blackness to brief color, goes dark again, then abruptly displays the following image: ]



[ Yes, it is Poe Dameron, standing nobly above a motif of X-wings, over the word "RESISTANCE" and below the words "WATCHING OVER THE SKIES AND STARS."

The background conversation stops. Poe's voice comes through clearly: ] Bee, what are you--BB-8, take that down right now.

[ Annnnnd the image vanishes. ]

Then, as he puts his finger on something that's been bothering him: ]

It's not... The poster was a joke, but the cause isn't.

I... don't think anyone fighting for a cause is a joke. I'm sorry if I offended you.

It's all right, you didn't, not really. And I look ridiculous on it.

I don't know if ridiculous is the right word. You look more like a movie hero than anything else. Or like a propaganda poster from World War II. Support our troops and all the stuff like that. I imagine that's the cause behind it rather than a joke. I mean, kids always need someone to put on their wall, right?

[volitaunt]

I'm not a movie hero, or a--what's World War II? I mean, I get the world war part, but why is it numbered like that?

[ LORD THERE'S SO MUCH IN WHAT SHE SAID THAT MAKES HIM FEEL WEIRD. ] I'm not....

[ Imagining some kid putting his image on display in their room the way he did with old Rebel propaganda is positively alarming. ] It's. That's. I'm not someone to put up on a wall.

Because we had two different ones where I'm from. Hopefully I won't go home to a third.

But I think that people who don't think that they should be on the wall are people who should be on it the most.

[ Oh hey, that's pretty much exactly what Poe said to Finn, or at least it's the spirit of what Poe said to Finn. Which doesn't make him any more inclined to accept it himself. ]

Let them put Leia Organa up there. She's more than earned it.

I know I don't know you but, I mean, if people put you on there, then they obviously think you've earned it as well.
