[ video | un: drn0167 ]
[ The video pans across one of the communal rooms before centering on Dorian. He looks overwhelmed and thrilled at the same time. ]
Okay, so this is amazing. I have a room with a bed — and I'm not entirely sure what they expect me to do with that. Also my own chair! It's a sweet deal.
[ Seriously. A chair. His own space. Let the android have his moment okay. ]
Unfortunately, I don't think my charging station came with me on the trip here. Does anyone know anyone technically minded or with a large amount of appliances and scrap? I kind of need it so I don't run out of power. Low charges are hellish.
I can pay you? I think I get wages now. Amazing.

[ He's actually curious about Vision. About other robots. He wonders how much of his experiences are shared. Or universal. He's never thought about being alone or feeling alone. It's hard to get bogged down when you're so relieved to be alive. ]

[Not pointing any fingers, Thor. Though the cape is probably still better than the cosby sweaters.]
I'd hope if he was around, he'd have tried to get in touch.

I'm sure he would. He wouldn't do that to you.
I mean, my partner would pretend not to know me, but he has a grumpy disposition.

[Tony's not even sure if he's managed sarcasm yet. Which, come to think of it, the cognitive dissonance of having Vision and JARVIS in the same place would be a hell of a thing.]
Anyway, it's just as well he gets to stay home. Someone's got to look after the place.

But you must miss him.

[But things have been slightly on the awkward side since...well, since. And it hasn't helped that Vision's been doing his best impression of moping. As with most things about back home, Tony tries not to think about it too much.]

I usually don't get to meet other robots. At least, ones like myself. There aren't many of us around.

[For some value of 'knocking stuff over a lot' being seen as entertaining. People seem to find Dum-E charming, though, so he's got that going for him.]

[ Because Dorian has things like time, time that is his own. ]

[Okay, so you do at least need supplies handy. But Tony is nothing if not resourceful.]

[Tony gives him a look, but there's amusement under it. Somehow even the robots he didn't build are smartasses at him.]
Luckily, I do in fact have all these things. It is actually my job here, even.
no subject
Is it really that busy here? I got the impression things were mostly quiet.
no subject
[And Tony is the kind of guy who would much rather be busy than not, so he can find ways to amuse himself. Or invent them, if he can't.]
There's the occasional rampaging creepy-crawly, like those beetles. And there's an entire abandoned city out there that people are sort of trying to reclaim. So there's plenty of work to be done.

But not much call for cops, I take it.

[ Dorian isn't sure what he'd do if his job felt obsolete. Life is finite for him. Measured to how useful he can be. ]

If nothing else, you look very impressive.
[When all else fails, go for humor.]

Thanks. I'm quite fond of my design.
