What are the birthday traditions on your home planets?

[ jyn hasn't celebrated a birthday in something like... fifteen years so to say she's out of practice would be a gross understatement. she tells herself this is cultural anthropology, her mother would be proud. TIME TO LEARN, time to attempt to live like a normal human being... ]

traditionally, the whole family would be invited and there would be a lot of dancing and music. people would decorate the birthday person's house with flowers. everyone would bring gifts of food and all eat a spread of various dishes. the traditional birthday cake has cardamom and rose flavors.

my birthday was a bit different than others', though.

Why is your birthday different?

i'm very important.
which sounds like an egotistical thing to say but the point is my birthday is a holiday.
there were parades.

i probably shouldn't have mentioned it.

the people did.
i was raised to be a god since i was born under the nature of tethering, one of the three gods' natures.
