Hi Riverview! My name's Gabby and I'm new here! I was in New York before. The one with the superheroes. And now I'm here! Unfortunately, I think I lost all my stuff? And my caseworker kind of freaked out when I gave her the list, so maybe you guys can help me!

I'm missing my MAC-10 machine pistols, nunchucks and knuckle busters. Anyone knows where to get those? Oh, and a proper bullet proof suit.

I'd still feel better with having weapons than having none. Even with my powers.

[Weapons aren't really Alex's thing. She tends to avoid them if at all possible, and here it's kind of not. A lot of her friends have guns and abilities, but they still ended up there with her anyway. So in the end, Alex just gives little sigh.]

I don't blame you with the whole kidnapped to another world thing. It's probably definitely better to have something familiar with you. I'd talk to someone on the guard. They might know.

I'm thirteen.

Or I think I'm thirteen. I've never had a birthday, so we just guessed.

[Alex's frown is audible. What is with kids here not having birthdays?]

You've never had a birthday?

Well, I'm a clone. We don't usually get stuff like birthdays and agency.

Oh wow. I'm sorry, I didn't know. Have you considered doing what other people here have and just picking a day so you have one and everything that goes along with it?

[ gabby shrugs. she doesn't have strong feelings on it. ]

Maybe. But it's something I want to do with Laura.

Oh yeah, of course! I didn't mean to imply it should be with some random stranger on the network!

Besides, Laura is pretty fantastic, so it's definitely something you should do together.

It's cool. Birthdays just sound like fun, that's all.

They definitely are and can be.

And I should get double presents for all the ones I've missed.

Are you going to go with double presents or a whole month like Laura's doing?

Besides, we can share our presents so I have to pick another month.

That makes a lot of sense. September maybe? Definitely don't want to get too close to Christmas.

Oh right, Christmas is a thing too.

Yeah it is, and it ends up being kind of a big deal here too.

How come we celebrate Christmas in space?

Are we saying Santa was an alien?

Well, I think it's more that there's enough of us from Earth that it kinda becomes a default Christmas rather than a winter holiday.

I do have a friend back home who is entirely convinced that Santa is an alien though. So who knows!

[ hmm, now she has to find out. ]

It would make more sense.

Yeah it would, I mean clearly he needs to have some sort of magical ability to get around the world in that time. Or something like it.

[Back home, Alex does not believe in Santa Claus in the slightest. But here given all the magic and stuff she knows of? Why the hell not?]

Maybe he was the first mutant! The first person to get abilities.
