So, uh, my name is Billy Kaplan.

[And from the looks of it, he's sprawled out on his bed in the communal housing, camera held above him steadily. He makes a face.]

I have no idea what to say about myself. I was a student back home and I know a little magic. [He's a little tentative about that one, but-- he's not sure there's a point in keeping it secret here either.] But marketable skills? I'm not so sure about that one. I guess I need to figure something out though.

[Considering he's going to be here for a while...]

I guess I'm making this to ask what all of you plan to do here? If you have any definite plans at all, I mean.

What sort of magic do you do?

Maybe not in the entertainment sense-- I mean not usually, but yeah.

[He gives a wry smile because, well-- it's easier to just show than explain so he lifts the hand that's not balancing the camera and focuses a bit until blue light appears around his hand.]

I can do this, and I create some things. Clothes, furniture...

Oh, that seems very useful. I don't know about the entertainment value, but... in my world magician simply means 'one who uses magic'. I'm one as well, although... my only talent is speaking to the dead. I believe I'm to understand most worlds dislike such magic.

[He did try to bring somebody back from the dead... sort of, after all. He can't point fingers.]

Can you speak to any dead person or... how does that work? It's pretty amazing, either way.

I mean, I could, but I think that'd fall under some public indecency laws. Besides, not that kind of magic.

Yuri doesn't even look remotely perturbed or apologetic over the arched brow. If anything, he looks a little impatient. He huffs out a breath, rolling his eyes. ]

The hell do you know about public decency around here? Try a red light district. Get creative.

[ He pauses, leaning forward a bit and squinting critically at the other. ]

What other kind of magic is there?

[Billy is forever impressed, to be honest.]

You seem pretty agitated there... Is it because that's your fetish or something? I mean, not judging...

[He holds up his hand, focusing a bit of his power until t here's a blue ball of light in his hand and after a moment, electricity sparks around it like lightning.]

Well, this kind for a start.

The fact of the matter is, we're stuck here for the foreseeable future. Until they can finagle their portal to send us back to the right reality, we might as well make things work here.

[Granted, Bucky doesn't exactly trust the people in charge, but he can keep that to himself for the moment. They probably monitor this network, or so his more paranoid side is telling him.]

I don't know how long I'm staying, but I'm needed back home. I've got battles to win and another king to kill.

[He says this very casually as if every sixteen year old should be fighting in a war and figuring out regicide on a daily basis.]

I mean, not to be rude or anything. That's just not something you hear every day where I'm from.

It's not common even where I'm from. But he deserved to die for what he did to my family.

I talked to the welcoming committee orientation people when I got here and they set me up at the gym, helping people train and stay in good shape. For sports but also monster-fighting and assorted adventuring. And I'm on-call for tech stuff for the hospital if they end up need someone for biochemist stuff.

[ Feels a bit weird and borderline boastful just answering that question without asking one of his own, though, especially when this kid said he feels like he doesn't have anything to offer. Everyone has something to offer - maybe he just needs a little encouragement. ]

What were you studying back home? And what kind of magic are we talking about? Rabbit out of a hat magic or... real magic?

I should check out the gym... I'm not much of a fighter, physically, but it's sort of good to keep in shape no matter what, you know? Especially when monster-fighting is a thing that's happening...

[And sometimes magic doesn't solve everything, as much as Billy kind of wishes it could...

He appreciates any answers though, however they come, and he's glad to see a lot of people settling in, getting in the swing of things.]

I was just about to finish up high school, so yeah. I'm not sure that's really useful either. But I can use real magic. I can create things, teleport... heal people, sometimes.

Definitely a good idea. Better safe than sorry. It's also a good way to de-stress, I mean, even if you never find yourself in a self-defense situation. We've got sports facilities. Nothing too fancy, but there's options.
