[The feed buzzes on to Ichimatsu looking boredly down with his hand resting on one fist, his other clearly setting the phone up to record. Despite how often he looks bored, this time he looks a little perturbed, as well, and he glances up at the phone after a while, shifting its view a moment later. It shows a large wooden chest, in the corner of a relatively nondescript room, and the inside of the chest is sectioned off into several segments, most of which are... filled with plants, be they dried or in seed form. He slowly moves the view across the entire chest, and then sets it back on a shelf, or a windowsill, where it can focus on him as he sets his cheek back against his fist.]

...so I've had this chest of plants for almost a fucking year now. I completely forgot about them, and all the labels are... burnt, it looks like. Somehow the plants are okay? They're weird space plants, they all do weird shit. I remember two of them, but not their names.

[A long silence, and he shifts to uncurl his hand and set his chin in his palm, instead.]

...guess I'm gonna be selling some weird space plant extracts once I figure out what they all do again. Anybody interested? Or, for that matter, anybody know anything about plants? Reaper, Karamatsu, you two remember these things?

[ooc; Ssssso these are plants Ichimatsu's had since he was in Eluvio. There was an event in that game where the ship visited a planet with seven districts based off the seven sins, and characters were allowed to harvest and keep flora from the districts. The moderation of that game has since locked the post with the actual names/effects of those plants, so I'll be working off memory for effects and making up new names, but the plants bear no actual resemblance to any other existing flora. Feel free to have any botany-smart people tell him as much! ...also hi I changed usernames.]

[He counts off the names on his fingers, pausing on each one like he's reading messy handwriting to figure out each one, and nods. With each additional name he supplies, he raises another finger, until there are seven.]

...Gula, Invidia and Avaritia were the other three. I had the names written down, but they're all burnt off. [A roll of his eyes and a shrug.] Guess I'll rename them. Wanna come help me figure out what they do again?

Look at you, remembering the other three.

[There's a rumbling tone to his voice, almost mocking. But it's Reaper being Reaper--as usual.]

Might as well rename them. Not like you need shitty memories of that place.

[And then a long pause, settling on the other end of the video feed--you can almost hear the nanomachines shifting as he takes time to decide on an answer.]

Might as well. There were a few I was growing for myself back then, anyway. Might steal some from you.

I had them written down more than once. Usually if I write something down enough times, I remember it.

[He's still frowning down at the chest while Reaper makes his decision about joining him or not, and there's the barest hint of a smile on his face when he does look back up.]

You liked the ones from... Superbia, I think it was. The ones that made you not a zombie. [And hot. You were definitely hot.]

Oh! Poor Ichimacchan! The thug! Reduced to a life of crime because we didn't watch him better! Pretty soon, he'll be completely unrecognizable! He'll get into fights and his face will get all scarred up! He'll live in a one-room apartment and cry himself to sleep every night as he reflects on everything he's lost! Then, in the daytime, he'll bully little kids into smoking his drugs! He'll have a posse of cats that sneaks drugs into peoples' pockets to get them addicted! Pretty soon, we're all on heroin! All because of Ichimatsu!

[He lets his brother have his little fit, watching the feed for a moment, then looking past his phone, and eventually rolling his eyes and shifting the plants around in the chest while he rambles.]

Mm-hmm. I have been thinking of getting a haircut, do you think I should shave my head on one side? Maybe steal some of Karamatsu's gel, spike it up? Really look the part.

I see... Well, if you had the sense to wonder if one was catnip, I'm sure you've already tested the mint one on a cat, yes?

[Isn't it, though? Ichimatsu looks mildly affronted at the question, though, quirking his mouth and letting his stumpy little eyebrows knit together.]

...ah, no, not yet. I'd rather know what they all do on a person before I expose my cat to them, I don't want to give him anything he shouldn't have, even if it seems like it's part of the mint family...

[ Katsura looks shocked. ]

You haven't even tried them on yourself yet? You've had them for a year, haven't you?

[ How could you resist the possibility of letting your cat get high as fuck, Ichimatsu? ]

No, I-- I forgot I even had them, honestly. I remember what they did where they came from, but I wanna make sure a different environment doesn't... change anything about them, especially before I give them to Nyanko.

[ By now, Aoba knows better than to ask why his first thought is to sell extracts from an unknown plant species, but he has to point out the obvious anyway. He also knows better than to ask how he got them, the Eluvio is something of a touchy subject. ]

...In retrospect, "space plants" makes them sound a lot weirder than they seemed when I got them.

[He frowns down at the chest, and nods to the question, rolling his head back and forth to stretch his neck.]

I mean I'm gonna test them to make sure, first. They didn't cause any problems before, they actually had a lot of positive effects... But I dunno if maybe that was specific to the planet they came from, everything went crazy right after I'd brought them back to the ship.

So basically you got them from another world, right? That can't be too weird, considering people are bringing stuff from other worlds all the time here.

[ That's definitely weird... but somehow he thinks this isn't the first time someone's brought some weird (and potentially dangerous flora or fauna into this world. Aoba blinks at Ichimatsu as if maybe he knows what he's getting himself - or anyone who sticks their nose where it doesn't belong, into. ]

Maybe there's some kind of facility here that can help? Maybe at Salvage?

I mean, they're plants and I got them in space, I didn't have any better way to describe them.

[He nods, turning his attention back to the chest of plants, sifting through them idly, pinching leaves and smelling them, chewing a little on the end of one. He makes a face, sticking his tongue out, and looks back up at the screen with it still sticking out.]

Mmn, you think? I figured maybe I'd just build some kind of greenhouse... [Not that he knows how to do that.]

[ Imagining his glum buddy here actually swinging a hammer to build anything is so odd that Aoba can't really envision it. ]

I've started looking into the plants found in this place. [ Obviously, by the shelves of them behind him. ] But I do not recognize those, unfortunately. Do you recall what they did at all?

[That would be correct-- the elusive one that doesn't socialize. He glances up at the unfamiliar voice and tilts his head, and then shakes it.]

They were specific to a planet called Bajikan, where there were seven weird districts named and themed after the Seven Deadly Sins. ...which, I guess doesn't make for a compelling argument that these aren't drugs. I remember a few of the effects, but not which does what.
