My name is Steve Rogers. In my world, I'm also known as Captain America. Some of you might know me, but that's not what I want to talk about.

[Well, not about his work specifically. He does wants to talk about work.]

We're all here for different reasons and I'm not going to pry into anyone's business, but I think there are some of us who are used to defending people in our home worlds and if you are, I'd like to work with you. If you're from a world like mine, then this city is quieter than others. But that doesn't mean we don't need to look out for it. The wildlife and technical problems still need attention. I know I'm asking you for more time on top of the work we're already doing with the Perimeter Guard and official positions, but I'd like to make that extra effort. A lot of you are probably better suited to organizing this than I am. If you have projects going, I want to join you. I want us to share those ideas and work together to help the city.

[His posture gets subtly more stern, with his chin raising and his shoulders straight. This part may not just be a general appeal for teamwork.]

It's easy to overlook some problems when most of the big issues are under control. We get by well enough. It's a nice place. I'm not going to let anything put this place in danger. I'm going to be on guard, to make sure nothing gets out of hand. I'm sure this doesn't apply to everyone, but if you're interested in a little community service, maybe we can do that together. Welcome to the city. It's usually pretty quiet, but I'm sure you've seen there are a few bumps that need to be addressed now and then. I think we could get to them faster if we pooled our experiences. Not everyone with ideas is on the Perimeter Guard.

We're not letting anyone die. That's the idea. We get a better look around, find more ways to keep everyone safe. Protect everyone if things get out of hand. It's not meant to be different from what we're already doing, so it should be easy enough to pick up.

All of that. And maybe setting up an outpost to go out beyond that point. I'm sure there are plenty of things to recover and find, and if we already have parties making trips out, we should exchange notes more often.

A lot of the problems come from beyond the wall, so if anyone is interested I'd like to go out there more. Check on things before they start headed our way. And help the police in Quarantine.

That's the attitude we need. I know it's hard for a lot of us, coming in from tough situations or leaving behind a lot of important business and people we care about. But while we're here, I think we owe it to ourselves to try to make the best of things.

the perimeter guard and police officials are biased against superhumans and punish self defense. they put collars on mutants like dogs to keep their powers contained.

the residential building has housed assassins, terrorists and serial killers next to normal people without even notifying them of the danger.

if you're going to talk about making an extra effect, you should start there.

First of all, I like to be upfront. You should take ownership of what you have to say.

If there was a murder, I'm assuming as a concerned citizen you reported that as soon as you found out about it? You're throwing out a lot of accusations so far, but from what I've seen? People are trying to be more considerate than a lot of places to the people around them. We're all new here. We're collecting people from worlds we've never even heard of, and that's difficult to manage. This is exactly why I'm making my statement now.

I agree that we should be ready and on guard, but unless you've got some better evidence, it sounds an awful lot like you just don't like when people suggest we should work together.

I'm part of the Perimeter Guard working with Search and Rescue. The wildlife is more my expertise than technical problems. If you need help with that, my parabatai and I may be able to help.

That's what people called me back where I'm from, yeah.

[Which to him makes it sound like he's something more than he is. It makes him uneasy, but Steve has never been able to shake that bigger image people have of the word.]

I can always use help with the wildlife. We're on the same assignment, so that'll make meeting up easier.

There are always dangers. This is a quiet place for the most part. I just think... we should keep our eyes open.
