[ There's questions that have been burning in his mind for a while. This place has confirmed a lot of his theories, yes, but the fact of the matter is he still has a million more questions to ask and he's finally narrowed it down to a few. When he greets the camera it's with the ease of someone who has done far too many video conference calls, and he smiles brightly, his voice it's usual friendly tone. ]
Before I get into things, I should probably say hello, so: my name is Alex Murry, and back home I'm a theoretical physicist. Now--can I have a headcount as to who in their universe has some sort of faster than light travel? Also, how many people here are from a place that's not Earth?
Oh-- [ a brisk snap of his fingers ] --Is there anybody here who has the ability to teleport? If you're willing to talk about anything I've mentioned or things similar to it, I'd love to hear about it. [ Judging from how eager he is, it's genuine. ]

It's kind of a weird feeling. Even if Jim doesn't have a beard, and his hair's shorter and (in his very modest and unbiased opinion) better taken care of. He almost considers going audio but he figures he may as well just get that initial shock out of the way.
Plus the questions do catch his attention, so. ]
We have faster-than-light travel. We measure it in warp factors— anything warp one and higher is faster than light. And I am from Earth, but plenty of people where I come from aren't. I was actually born in deep space.
As for teleporting, I'm not naturally capable of it, though we do have transporters in my universe.
[ And now he'll shut up for a bit and let Alex choose which piece of information he wants to focus on first. ]

Or would be, had he not been staring at a slightly neater, more clean shaven version of himself. Alex leans back from how he's sitting on his chair, saying nothing for a moment, and he's heard the other's words, yes, but--well. ]
Wow.
[ Yeah, he needs a few more seconds. ]
no subject
Right, that too. Yeah. [ He smiles and waves at the camera. ] Hi? Captain James T. Kirk. This is one of the weird things that happens around here sometimes.

That's exactly what I mean. Can only certain people do it?

( since he started with introductions, billy may as well follow suit and do the same, right? )
We've got a lot of different means of fast-travel back home. There are probably people more qualified than me to get into. . that though. I'm from an Earth. And I can teleport via magic, but it's a little limited here.

An earth. [ He likes that, especially since it just proves his multiverse theory back home, and if his smile's anything to go by, that's a big deal. ]
Limited in range? How far can you push yourself?

I do. What of it?

How far? Any limitations? How? Is it considered normal in your world? That sort of stuff.

Like exactly like Jim. This wasn't an evil twin or anything, right?]
I'm from a realm that's...sort of like Earth, but not really? If that counts...
[She looks nervous, and very cautious about this entire thing.]

Totally counts. Sort of like earth, huh? What's the difference?

Not from a planet called Earth, or know any Star System that has a planet by that name.

reunited and it feels so good
'Rad as hell.' Yeah, you know what? I agree, it is as rad as hell. As for knowing... I figured out how to pretty recently.
[ He thinks it's recently. OR is it a long time ago? It's both. Maybe it's both. ]
heck yea

Heavy learning, that. Are you looking to try and unravel the mysteries behind this teleportation thing, or are you just trying to find someone who can manage it?
no subject
[ So's that answer, honestly, and he leans forward. ]
Would you believe me if I said both? Either? Or?

Earth seems to be a very common place of origin for people here. Is it yours?
The starships in my galaxy utilize what we call hyperspace to travel the distances between planets in much shorter amounts of time.

I don't suppose you'd know the equation for it, would you?

[ which... doesn't really say much. It tells Bodhi that it's at least a very popular point of origin for the people here, though. ]

At least it looks like Jim has introduced him to the idea already.]
Hello, I'm Dr. Crusher. Strictly speaking I'm not from Earth but I am human and my ancestry traces back to Earth several generations ago.

[Namely the Galra Druids and Zarkon's witch...]
As far as faster than light travel, I think that varies, too. Some races use hyperdrives in their ships. [Again... the Galra... they had hyperdrives in their battle cruisers.] But, the group I work with creates wormholes for long distances.
And I'm from Earth, but we travel around the galaxy to other worlds.
