Hey everyone! I don't post on here super often, but I've been laid up for a week now and I'm going a little crazy. Total cabin fever.
I used to see forums like this on the internet back home, and I thought it might be kind of fun here too, so I thought I'd give it a try, because reading those forums was always a lot of fun.
So, Crowd-Sourced Relationship Advice!
I turned on anonymous posting on here, so you can make a fake username and submit a description of a problem that you're having in your relationships, either romantic or at work or whatever, and other anonymous people can give you advice!
Or you can stay logged in on your real account. Up to you!

Conditioner.
[ THAT'S IT. He's just #blessed with great hair genes. Thanks, mom. ]
The climate here is starting to wreak havoc on the volume and texture.

[ THERE'S A LOT OF WORK TO BE DONE HERE, BUDDY. ]
So when you say volume, would you say it's more on the wavy side or curly side? Or just coily hair? Thick or thin? Dry or oily? Give me a frame of reference.

[ And then he killed his dad and let his hair care routine go to shit. AND THEN DIDN'T BOTHER RESTOCKING HERE. Because there are way too many products and options and wtfffff ]
Wavy
Thick
Dry
Medium length
[ Bless you for this, new anonymous friend. ]

Okay, first step is knowing how often to wash your hair. If you wash it too often you could dry it out, especially if it's already naturally dry. If you don't wash it often enough it'll cause a lot of increased hair fall, and volume loss. I'd say washing about every 3 to 4 days would be ideal? If it gets dirty in-between you can find an adequate dry shampoo to use.
Also: microfiber towels. Unless you want it to frizz like crazy.
Lots of conditioner is the way to go though, so you stick to that. Something for dry hair definitely, but not too heavy, or else you'll lose all the volume. I'd also avoid the roots and see how that works for you.
You should also find some oil to nourish and soften your hair. Maybe coconut oil, or pumpkin seed oil. You could leave it on overnight or leave it on for an hour before washing your hair. It'll help it get much softer and shinier, and help with your dry and split ends.
Although you should still trim every 1 to 2 months, to keep it looking its best.

SO. USEFUL. Possibly the most useful conversation he's ever had on the network???? ]
New towels... That explains why it's been frizzing lately. I'll have to look into these oils.
Thank you for the advice. You certainly know a lot about hair.

At first I just wanted to know how to take care of my own hair. Then I got curious, so I started reading up on it. Call it a hobby, I guess.
no subject
Oh. I'd just assumed you were a stylist. It's a useful hobby, at least.
no subject
Oh no, nothing like that. Although I could probably cut and style hair if I wanted to, my profession doesn't relate in any way.
no subject
I see. Always good to have a backup career, at least.
[ Look at that: he's actually teasing! Being friendly! ]
no subject
[ He's kidding. Mostly. But yeah he does look like a mess during those times. ]
Haha, very funny. If I ever lose my touch as a captain I can always resort to hairdresser.
no subject
What are you captain of? Or would that defeat the purpose of anonymity.
no subject
I don't need to stay anonymous, it's fine. I'm a Starfleet Captain— although I'm guessing you've never heard of that before.
no subject
[ It works for his mom, anyway. TIME TO EMULATE HER.
...
Though he's definitely not going to go all cinnamon buns. ]
I haven't heard of Starfleet, but I can guess it must be similar to our own navy, where I'm from.
no subject
Something like it— but Starfleet isn't a military organization, not in the traditional sense. It's a deep-space exploratory service commissioned and maintained by the United Federation of Planets. Our main goal is to go out there and meet new worlds, new people and cultures, and exchange knowledge and find new friends and allies.
