[There is a mildly anxious child on the feed, sitting on the edge of the community building roof as she munches down on some potato chips; this child's diet is 1000% on point. But more importantly, she flashes the video feed several stories below toward some of the trees. The little accent is full of confusion:]

They are dying. What are they sick with?

Shouldn't someone do something to save them? ¿Dónde está el jardinero?

[Seriously, nobody seems concerned about the leaves all falling off. Or them turning odd colors.]

There's nothing wrong with the trees. This is their natural course. The leaves change color, they fall, new ones grow in the spring.

I don't understand. Why don't they just keep the leaves they have?

Because the tree itself needs to conserve water so it can survive in the winter and sustaining the leaves during that time would take up more water than it has to give. When the weather is less severe, it will allow for the tree to grow the leaves back when spring rolls around.

Usually that does mean we're sick but trees are different than us. On some worlds, their leaves change color and then they fall. It's their way of surviving through the winter.

Liking high places is different from liking space. I mean, like, jumping in puddles isn’t really the same as liking the ocean, right?

That's normal for trees. They do it every year and then new leaves grow back in the spring.

Have you ever seen fall before?

I didn't see a lot of trees.

... Is that what it is called? When trees bald. They call it -- 'fall'?
