<sub>[ Perhaps you recognize this guy because he has two other identical brothers here. Perhaps you recognize him from watching some campy soap opera that he has acted in— you know his face, he's the guy that always dies in the background. If not, perhaps you're one of the unfortunate people who actually know him.. or are friends with him. Yikes. Either way, this feed features Karamatsu illuminated by candlelight, nothing more. He's wearing a closed bathrobe and.. nothing more, either. Well, just about. There's a red bow tied around his neck— if anyone cared to look further, they'll probably see it's also draped over his collarbone, implying he's wrapped up in a ribbon like a present underneath that robe.

Spoiler: he is.

But that's not it. A painful picture deserves some painful monologues, right? He parts his lips, expression appearing wistful. It's bad acting at it's finest. It's cringe worthy. ]</sub>

Ah, December. It is probably... my second favorite time of the year. It is a time for generosity, a time for giving. A time to reflect on your former self as the year draws to an end.. a time for.. love. _{[ TAKES A DRAMATIC SIP OF WINE. ]}
Where I am from.. we celebrate Christmas. It is.. expected, ah no, it is mandatory that love blossoms within the snowy air, shrouding all feelings of loneliness with feelings of adoration— feelings of belong. If you are lonely this month, I can offer you the greatest gift you can ever receive! Ah, are you ready? _{[ He sucks in a breath and then exclaims with a flourish: ]}
IT IS LOVE!!!
It is all the love that I could ever give! Simply accept and be my date on the 25th! I will shower you with gifts! I will shower you with.. romance!
_{[ His voice is cracking slightly from sounding so desperate, tears pricking the corner of his eyes. It's really pitiful. ]}

I will give you a night you won't ever forget! _{[ PROBABLY FOR THE WRONG REASONS... ]}

[okay, now Osomatsu looks annoyed, but he's not angry. Karamatsu's being Karamatsu, is all]

Didn't we try this before, though? Advertising ourselves turned out to be a bust. [besides, who was Karamatsu kidding? didn't he hate Christmas like the rest of his brothers?]

[odenson]

[Yeah, that 'thwap' sound was super duper satisfying. But what Osomatsu follows up with definitely catches his attention.] Eh? You advertised yourselves before? [Chibita blinks, glancing down at Osomatsu] Why'd ya do that? Did ya think it was gonna work or somethin'?

[Right okay, turning his attention back to Karamatsu now, resting his chin on his hand.] ...ya sure this is the way y'wanna go about this? I mean, it might be better askin' around in person.

It'll work this time because I'm doing it on my own and without Osomatsu-niisan.

he doesn't even know how to respond]

[Chibita's eyebrows shoot up at that, almost to where his hairline might be...if he had one. But then they drop again into a frown, and he's (finally) getting off Osomatsu's chest, shifting to stand with a huff. He wanders a bit closer, resting his hands on his hips, cocking his head slightly to the side to study his friend.]

You really are pretty serious 'bout this, huh? [BECAUSE HE INSULTED OSOMATSU????] Why're you so serious 'bout it now?

Why am I serious about it now? Now it is the first Christmas I've spent somewhere else from home. The people here.. they are different. The people here.. they seem to listen. Should I spend another Christmas without anyone special? Non, je refuse! I would be ruined to nothing if I did not at least try to capture anyone's heart this season. An opportunity— wasted. A pinnacle of my life, missed. Yes, it is true, I love my brothers! But..

_{[ A beat, his voice lowering. ]}
I'm tired of being with nobody during these times. I'm tired of.. being a nobody during these times.

[Osomatsu rolls onto his stomach, kicking his legs up and resting his chin in his hands while he watches Karamatsu. hm]

Chibita and Aoba told me to start by asking someone out for coffee. Maybe you should try that instead of going through... all of this.

[odenson]

[All of that from Karamatsu, that first part, is basically what Chibita expected to hear. Except that last line. And he starts to frown, something like concern starting to shift its way onto his features as he moves closer to plop down next to Karamatsu, opening his mouth to say something--but then Osomatsu speaks and Chibita pauses, glancing over at him...before shutting his mouth. Maybe not the best place to address that last sentence. Instead, he'll let that suggestion hang for a moment, before he folds his arms over his chest.]

It'd be a good way t'get t'know people one on one, anyway.

The point is to, uh. Talk. Without paying too much money... [turns his head towards Chibita. help?]

[Chibita can’t help but roll his eyes as Osomatsu mentions the bit about money, even though it’s honestly a good point because Chibita knows well enough first hand how much these idiots are willing to spend on a romantic option should that person ask for it. He huffs out a bit of a sigh, folding his arms contemplatively across his chest, taking half a moment to think. With Osomatsu, he could approach the conversation from the money angle, but with Karamatsu, he needs something different]

I mean....’s not really just th’ money, is it? It’s about gettin’ to know that person and seein’ who they are. It shows yer interested in them as a person, not just a romantic partner who could be easily replaced by anyone else sittin’ across from ya. So...I think it’s way more romantic for a first date than any grand gestures.

[glitterpants]

Hmph. I don't see the point. I'd rather spend a lot of money on somebody. They deserve only the best when they go out with me. I want them to be impressed in who I am and not... disappointed.
_{[ Cause he knows for a fact he's a very disappointing person. ]}

That happens more often than not and I'm sick of it.

[geez, that's not what he meant you guys. but whatever! Osomatsu pushes himself up off the ground and stands]

Maybe they'd be more impressed if you weren't such a try-hard.

[Chibita stares at Karamatsu for a moment, that bit of worry slipping onto his face again--except then his head jerks towards Osomatsu at that and he frowns, snapping, something of a warning in his tone] Oi.

[except...hngh. He doesn't like this. Mostly because of what Karamatsu's been saying; that bit about him being nobody, and people being disappointed. He folds his arms over his chest, tapping his foot a bit in concentration as he tilts his head down to frown at his knees. He's trying to figure out exactly what to say...and it takes half a moment before he does speak, shaking his head.]

That ain't it. That ain't the issue. [he looks up again, still looking concerned. Fine. Talking around this isn't going to get them anywhere and though Chibita is a bit hesitant to do it with another Matsu around...if he doesn't address this, they'll go around in circles] The issue is thinkin' you're nobody if ya don't have a date, or...or that somehow spendin' a lotta money is what's gonna impress anyone. Maybe some people it might, but then it's just a show for th' show's sake. What if they don't like big displays like that, huh?

Maybe they'd be impressed with you if you were such a cheapskate, Osomatsu-niisan.
_{[ Poor Chibita, caught in the cross hair of two older brothers.
He huffs indignantly, brushing off his shoulder and then scoffing slightly. ]}

If they don't like big displays like that, I'm afraid they will never understand me. They won't understand the love I can give.
_{[ here he goes trying to act all cool and mysterious.. ]}

[Osomatsu rolls his shoulder, cracks his neck. he wasn't going to say anything, but Karamatsu's being insufferable. here he was, trying to be serious, to help his brother out, and it backfires in his face.

he turns away, tucking his hands into his pockets. admittedly, Karamatsu has a point. and Osomatsu was the one who had said that Karamatsu should stay Karamatsu, and take things headfirst. but now he's feeling grouchy because he was insulted]

I'm not the one begging strangers for a date. I already got one. [and off he goes. good luck, Karamatsu]

[odenson]

[Chibita huffs a bit at the two of them...but he's not gonna say anything on either end. Honestly neither of them are acting great, not that it's a surprise, so he'll just...wait for a moment. Maybe Karamatsu will be more receptive once Osomatsu's out of the room and they've quit sniping at each other.]

[glitterpants]

_{[ He already got one. Was he lying? Karamatsu never knows with his older brother, but they seem to be competitive about a lot of things lately. Something about all of that makes Karamatsu stomach twist in jealousy, his upper lip raising in a primitive looking snarl in Osomatsu's direction when he leaves. ]}

Hmph. I'm not.. begging for a date.
_{[ He totally is, though. ]}

[odenson]

[It's at this point that Chibita huffs out a bit of a sigh, shifting so he can face Karamatsu a little better, arms folded, arching an eyebrow at him. Especially at that snarl.

But after a moment, he'll reach out and nudge Karamatsu's knee with his foot]

Oi. Karaboy. I gotta question.

[glitterpants]

I'M NOT BEGGING FOR A DATE!
_{[ He re-emphasizes before Chibita can ask his question, his voice cracking slightly. ]}

[odenson]

[alskdhfsoihfs THE YELL MAKES HIM JUMP A LITTLE, STARTLED, SO OF COURSE HE HAS TO YELL BACK]

THE HELL, YA IDJIT, DAMMIT! I DIDN'T SAY YA WERE!

[....he may have been thinking it, though]

Tch. I don't think he actually has got a date. He is probably just lying.. because he is jealous of all the love I could give a person!

_{[ There's a moment of silence before he finally responds to Chibita: ]}

What kind of question is it?

[odenson]

[Chibita lets that silence hang and doesn't address that first part, not quite yet. Because he didn't know that Osomatsu had a date, but he doesn't think he's lying either. Not this time. He sits in that silence for a moment, then again after the question. How does he structure this? True, each of those Matsus need to be handled differently, but Chibita's honestly not really sure how to restructure an honest question. So he'll just...ask it. And hope for the best.]

...what makes ya think you're nobody?

_{[ Of course, Chibita asks that question so easily. So simple. The answer is a loaded one, and thankfully Karamatsu feels like he can be honest with Chibita. There's few people he feels like he can show his real emotions to.
His fingers curl up into little fists. He's jealous and he's mad that it gets to him this way. There's so much in his life he wants to be and accomplish, but he feels so alone trying to reach those dreams that he feels will never happen. ]}

Just look at me! Begging for a date for the holiday!
_{[ oh so now he admits it just like that. ]}

That should be enough proof!
