Video; Sleep Deprivation

[The video shows Ivar looking a little rumpled, the look of someone who has been trying to sleep and can't. He's cleaning out grime from under his fingernails with one of his knives as he speaks and it occasionally flashes into view.

Oddly enough, he's smiling, his eyes just a little too bright. It's not a happy smile. When Ivar gets angry, sometimes, he smiles in a way that says he's going to rip your throat out with his teeth if you get too close. His tone sounds oddly cheerful as he speaks.]

To whoever is making that horrible racket that's keeping me awake, you have two options. Stop it. [Then his voice goes dark and furious.] Or I'll stop it. Trust me when I say my way will be a lot more unpleasant. [He never stops smiling even as he turns off the video.]

[Just ignore that look on Ivar's face as he realizes the implications of what he just said.]

But I wouldn't say no to the rain. It is calming.

[And Ivar is very, very good at killing people. The knife he has in his hands pauses as he considers his options.]

He has that same sort of madness that Ramsay seemed to possess, but before that thought can linger in his head, he's pushing it away. No. That monster wasn't here.]

[Don't tell Ivar that. His bite is far worse than his bark. As for being touched by madness, it is the truth. He enjoys killing far more than any Viking does and they're a bloodthirsty lot. Even his brothers are scared of him for a reason.]

Either someone is playing music that sound like the screams of battle or they've gotten into an loud argument with someone.

[He would be well suited for the Wall, or maybe even the Free Folk. There was something about him that reminded Jon of Tormund or the Thenns. He was young though, a boy with a bit too much blood lust.]

I don't see that disturbing you, if it is screaming from the battlefield.

[Far too much blood lust for comfort. It would lead to kin-slaying in the end, though that had yet to happen. You had to be filled with a special kind of rage to watch someone be blood eagled with something approaching joy.]

Screaming I can deal with. But it's vibrating loud enough to come straight through the walls. I can feel it running straight through me.

[He finishes picking grime out from under his nails and so he flips the knife over into his other hand. Ivar still isn't convinced cutting someone's throat isn't a valid solution to the problem.]

Sounds like screaming. I don't know if it's music, someone being tortured, or sex, but I ceased caring about the source half an hour ago. If it doesn't stop in the next five minutes, someone is going to end up dead.

[He has a lot of practice killing people in their sleep. They'll never see it coming.]

Well, now you might have a problem. What if they're already dead? You going to resurrect them again just to kill them?

At this rate, I'm following them straight to Hel and coming back if that's what it takes to stop this racket.

[He's already unstable as it is. Not getting sleep is only going to exacerbate the problem.]

You know, I could always make you earplugs if you wanted. I mean, not that I want to intrude on murder times, but I can do that.

Would they be robot earplugs?

[He's become slightly more trusting of Stark tech. But only slightly. They wouldn't nearly be as satisfying as killing someone, but he'll take what he can get at this point.]

[ that would be... a challenge, depending on what Ivar wanted them to be able to do of course.]

Gee, thanks. I'm not taking this from someone who could pass for a girl if his hair was three inches longer. [Pause.] An ugly girl.

[It was nice to have someone around he could insult who didn't take it so personally. Ivar only did this to people he actually cared about.]

It's a tempting offer. [No, Ivar. Bad Ivar. Don't start setting off firecrackers in an enclosed space.]

You're just jealous I'm better looking than you'll ever be. [ And Yuri honestly punctuates this with a hair flip, and a smirk. Ivar was quickly becoming one of Yuri's favourite people in Riverview, for the simple fact that they could banter like this. ]

If it keeps up, they deserve it.

[For a moment, he forgets how to talk. He just sort of stares, considering the implications of the offer. He's never had a woman be so bold with him. Then again, he's still just getting used to the idea of a woman being interested in him at all.]

[She pretends to get along with the dead people she hangs around but she rarely does. Walter is no exception.]
